Job description

We're building a new global Berlitz, and this is your opportunity to help shape it. Nearly 150 years of expertise, meeting the ambition and technology to power a new era of learning.

If you are the kind of person who thrives in a fast-paced environment, isn’t afraid of a blank page, and is excited to help shape the future of a global company undergoing a significant transformation, you might belong at Berlitz!

We're looking for people with software engineering backgrounds who are ready to move into technical project management, owning the business systems work behind our transition from a legacy stack to a new one. These are growth paths, not fully-formed PM seats.

Our legacy stack involves over 100 systems across the globe including proprietary invoicing/billing/scheduling systems, two Salesforce instances and NetSuite, among others. Our new stack is HubSpot, Metronome, Stripe, NetSuite, and Workato. Getting from one to the other — while the business keeps running on both — is the core challenge of both tracks.

We're hiring two people into this role. The skills profile is similar for both, but each hire will own one of two distinct tracks: O2C Integrations or CRM Projects. These tracks will eventually mature into a larger scope of internal tooling and enterprise customization. Track assignment will be based on candidate strengths and interest during onboarding, rather than decided in advance.

Track 1: Order-to-Cash Integrations Projects

Focused on building and connecting

  • Own the Order-to-Cash flow end-to-end — Across both tech stacks. You're accountable for how orders, invoicing, billing, and revenue data move through the business, regardless of which systems they touch.

  • Set integration ecosystem strategy — Define how integrations across business systems should be architected as a whole: point-to-point vs. centralized (e.g., via Workato), reusable patterns, and standards for how new systems connect in.

  • Co-build the Legacy system replacement s— Partner with the Enterprise product team as technical owner of how the new platform's O2C integration layer is architected, including data models and API contracts.

  • Control integration vendors — Own technical evaluation, SLAs, and build-vs-buy decisions for integration tooling and vendors across the ecosystem.

  • Bridge legacy and new-stack engineering teams — Be the technical point of contact ensuring O2C data contracts and dependencies are understood on both sides.

Track 2: CRM & Martech Projects

Focused on retiring and migrating CRM systems

  • Lead the Salesforce 2A sunset project — Own the plan, timeline, and execution for retiring this legacy Salesforce instance, coordinating data migration and cutover with dependent teams.

  • Lead the Salesforce STAR sunset project — Same ownership model, applied to the STAR instance.

  • Control the HubSpot vendor relationship — Own vendor management for HubSpot, including contract terms, SLA performance, and roadmap alignment with vendor capabilities.

  • Own marketing automations — Own the roadmap and execution for marketing automation workflows (built largely on HubSpot). Campaign strategy sits with Marketing; you own the tooling and execution layer those campaigns run on.

  • Manage sunset risk — Identify what breaks if a legacy system goes away too early, and build technically sound mitigation and rollback plans.

What We're Looking For

  • Software engineering background — you've built, maintained, or integrated production systems, ideally including APIs, middleware, or data pipelines.

  • Strong communication skills — able to explain technical tradeoffs to engineers, vendors, and business stakeholders alike.

  • Detail oriented and structured approach — planning and running complex, multi-stakeholder technical projects to completion, including sequencing, risk management, and timeline ownership.

  • Comfortable reading and reasoning about system architecture and data models across multiple connected systems without translation from engineering.

  • Comfortable with ambiguity, especially around evolving scope boundaries between adjacent teams during a platform migration.

Nice to Have

  • Familiarity with billing/invoicing/CRM systems (Salesforce, NetSuite, HubSpot, Stripe, Metronome, Workato, or similar).

  • Experience with vendor management, including contract and SLA negotiation.

  • Background in a company undergoing a legacy-to-modern platform migration.

  • Experience defining integration strategy or standards at an organizational level, not just shipping individual integrations; exposure to integration architecture patterns (point-to-point, iPaaS/middleware, event-driven).

  • Formal project management certification (PMP, PRINCE2, or similar) — helpful but not required with structured ways of working

Why You Should Join

This is a rare, explicitly structured path out of pure engineering — you're hired as an engineer, judged on engineering judgment, and grow into project management on the job. You'll get unusually broad system exposure fast, which is the kind of company-wide operational map most engineers wait years to see. You will be joining a project management and product operations team and receive ongoing coaching for your career development.

At Berlitz, connecting people across languages and cultures is at the heart of what we do. Our global workplace reflects the diverse world we serve, bringing together different backgrounds, experiences and perspectives. We create an inclusive environment where everyone has an equal opportunity to belong, contribute and grow.
