Job description

We're building a new global Berlitz, and this is your opportunity to help shape it. Nearly 150 years of expertise, meeting the ambition and technology to power a new era of learning.

If you are the kind of person who thrives in a fast-paced environment, isn’t afraid of a blank page, and is excited to help shape the future of a global company undergoing a significant transformation, you might belong at Berlitz!

What you'll do

  • Own our enterprise integrations architecture across identity, learning, and HR systems, and set the standards for how new connectors are built, tested, and supported.

  • Build and maintain SSO using SAML 2.0 and OpenID Connect, with support for major identity providers such as Okta, Microsoft Entra ID, Google Workspace, and Ping.

  • Implement user and group provisioning through SCIM 2.0 and directory sync, including clean handling of joiners, movers, and leavers.

  • Integrate with enterprise LMS and LXP platforms such as Workday Learning, SAP SuccessFactors, Cornerstone, Docebo, Degreed, and Moodle, using standards like LTI 1.3, xAPI, SCORM, and cmi5 alongside vendor APIs.

  • Integrate with HRIS platforms such as Workday, SAP SuccessFactors, BambooHR, HiBob, and Personio to sync employee, org structure, and cost centre data. Evaluate when to use a unified API provider (such as Merge or Finch) versus building direct connectors.

  • Design robust sync patterns, including webhooks, scheduled syncs, conflict resolution, rate limiting, retries, and clear error reporting that customers and our support team can act on.

  • Build self-serve configuration where possible, so customer admins can set up SSO and provisioning without an engineering ticket.

  • Partner with Security on data protection, least-privilege access, and customer security reviews, and help answer technical sections of security questionnaires.

  • Support pre-sales and onboarding as the technical expert for integration scoping, and help Sales avoid promising what we can't deliver.

  • Document integrations for internal teams and customers, including setup guides, data mappings, and troubleshooting runbooks.

What you'll bring

  • 6+ years in software engineering, with at least 3 years building B2B SaaS integrations for enterprise customers.

  • Deep, hands-on experience with SAML 2.0, OAuth 2.0 / OpenID Connect, and SCIM 2.0, including debugging them in real customer environments.

  • Production experience integrating with at least one major HRIS (Workday, SAP SuccessFactors, or similar) and at least one enterprise LMS or learning standard (LTI, xAPI, or SCORM).

  • Strong integration engineering fundamentals: API design, event-driven architecture, idempotency, data mapping and validation, and observability.

  • A clear understanding of identity and people data privacy, including GDPR and handling employee data across multiple countries.

  • Comfort talking directly with customer IT administrators and translating between technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • A platform mindset. You build connectors to be reused and configured, not rebuilt for each customer.
