OUR OPPORTUNITY

We are looking for a Senior Design Operations Manager to establish and maintain the design systems, standards, governance, tooling, and quality processes supporting large-scale digital banking engagements. The role ensures consistency, accessibility, documentation, and efficient collaboration between design and engineering teams.

YOU WILL

»       Assess and enhance enterprise design systems, identifying gaps, improvements, and consolidation opportunities.

»       Own the design-system roadmap, versioning, contribution process, and controlled adoption.

»       Manage design tokens, libraries, components, and their relationship with digital banking platforms such as Backbase.

»       Maintain custom-component registers and governance documentation.

»       Define and govern WCAG 2.2 AA accessibility standards and acceptance criteria.

»       Conduct accessibility reviews and track findings through resolution.

»       Establish documentation standards for journeys, components, design decisions, and developer handover.

»       Own design handover standards covering responsive behaviour, accessibility, Arabic RTL, content, motion, and usability requirements.

»       Run design QA to validate implemented journeys against approved designs and specifications.

»       Define quality gates, triage issues, and ensure high-severity findings are resolved and retested.

»       Manage design tooling, workspace structure, permissions, libraries, naming conventions, and licences.

»       Maintain bilingual design structures supporting Arabic RTL and English LTR.

»       Track design operations metrics such as reuse, rework, throughput, and cycle time.

»       Support onboarding, team workflow, capacity planning, and knowledge transfer.

»       Ensure design assets and repositories follow client security requirements.

»       Support transition of design systems, tools, and knowledge to client teams.

Requirements

»       TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THE ROLE YOU NEED

»       6–10 years of relevant experience, including 3+ years in design operations or design systems roles.

»       Proven experience managing design systems and standards across large design teams.

»       Advanced Figma administration, including workspace, libraries, permissions, branching, and plugins.

»       Strong knowledge of design tokens and component-library management.

»       Experience with design-system governance, versioning, and controlled releases.

»       Strong working knowledge of WCAG 2.2 AA and accessibility auditing.

»       Experience performing design QA against build specifications and managing issue resolution.

»       Strong documentation, knowledge-management, and process-management skills.

»       Excellent communication and facilitation skills in English.

»       Experience with Backbase or other digital banking platforms is an advantage.

»       Arabic/RTL and bilingual design experience is an advantage.

»       Banking, fintech, or other regulated-industry experience is a plus.

»       Experience with design automation, Figma plugins, research operations, or accessibility certifications is an advantage.

»       Degree or diploma in Design, Information Management, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
