Job description

Facilities Management & Building Operations

  • Direct all facility maintenance, repair, and infrastructure activities to ensure a safe, efficient, and compliant work environment.
  • Manage preventive maintenance programs for critical facility equipment including forklifts, compressors, HVAC systems, cranes, ventilation systems, and other utility assets.
  • Oversee building repairs and maintenance activities for facility interiors, exteriors, grounds, parking areas, and general infrastructure.
  • Ensure required inspections, testing, certifications, and record retention for critical facility systems, including fire suppression systems, emergency lighting, security systems, alarms, and environmental controls.
  • Lead facility improvement projects, upgrades, renovations, expansions, and modifications to support operational requirements.
  • Manage relationships, contracts, budgets, and performance of external service providers including janitorial, landscaping, snow removal, pest control, plumbing, waste management, and facility maintenance contractors.
  • Oversee procurement and inventory management for facility supplies, consumables, safety equipment, and occupant support products.
  • Maintain and support employee services and equipment including vending systems, safety stations, emergency equipment, machine shop resources, and other workplace amenities.
  • Ensure occupant comfort, convenience, and workplace functionality through effective management of building systems and services.
  • Monitor facility safety, regulatory compliance, and environmental requirements while supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

Capital Projects & Equipment Implementation

  • Support capital investment and development projects from concept through implementation, including planning, equipment selection, supplier coordination, budgeting, scheduling, and project execution.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Operations, and Manufacturing teams to develop equipment layouts and facility integration plans.
  • Manage project timelines, contractor activities, equipment acceptance, startup activities, and operational handoff.
  • Coordinate communication and implementation activities between affected plants and departments.
  • Ensure all equipment and facility projects meet company safety standards, OSHA regulations, and internal policies.
  • Develop and maintain operating procedures, work instructions, and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) documentation for new equipment and processes.
  • Coordinate installation, commissioning, modification, and upgrades of mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, controls, and HMI systems.
  • Provide technical support during project startup, validation, debugging, and ongoing operation.
  • Analyze equipment performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement corrective actions to improve reliability and efficiency.

Maintenance & Technical Support

  • Provide plant-wide technical expertise and support for manufacturing equipment, facility systems, and operational processes.
  • Evaluate equipment failures, identify root causes, and develop corrective and preventive actions.
  • Support production operations through rapid response to critical equipment issues and infrastructure challenges.
  • Lead reliability and continuous improvement initiatives focused on equipment uptime, productivity, and maintenance effectiveness.

Leadership & Team Management

  • Lead, coach, and develop maintenance technicians and facility personnel to achieve operational, safety, and performance objectives.
  • Establish priorities, assign resources, and monitor departmental performance metrics.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, continuous improvement, and customer service throughout the organization.
  • Participate in workforce planning, training, succession planning, and employee development activities.

Safety, Compliance & Emergency Preparedness

  • Champion plant safety initiatives and ensure compliance with OSHA, environmental, and company standards.
  • Participate in and support 5S, continuous improvement, and operational excellence initiatives.
  • Lead emergency preparedness activities, business continuity planning, and facility emergency response support.
  • Coordinate facility readiness and support activities during emergency situations.
  • Manage setup, support, and logistics for company events, visits, audits, and special functions.
