The Role

As a Pricing Analyst within Fidelity Workplace Investing (WI), your responsibilities include evaluating pricing and profitability for our core market prospects and clients. The analyst applies marketplace knowledge, analytical skills, and influencing skills to develop market competitive pricing strategies that help acquire/retain clients, improve product utilization, and optimize profitability. The position regularly presents pricing issues, risks, and recommendations to sales, relationship management, segment leaders and finance.

The Expertise and Skills You Bring

  • College degree in Finance, Economics, or Accounting

  • 2 -3 years of work and/or internship experience in a Finance role

  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) with significant emphasis on Excel

  • Proven analytical/problem-solving abilities

  • Attention to detail and accuracy are essential

  • Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to influence senior level positions

  • Demonstrates strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Analyze prospect and client pricing requests from sales and relationship management, evaluating fees, market competitiveness, and long-term profitability

  • Develop financial models and pricing proposals that conform to business guidelines to assist the sales organization in acquiring new clients

  • Evaluate existing client repricing requests as changes occur to the plan and its participants, product offering, fee structure, and/or other key underlying assumptions

  • Evaluate client-specific metrics and challenge assumptions as appropriate to ensure that projected profitability and required fees are sufficient

  • Analyze financial information and proactively create alternative pricing scenarios that enhance win rate, strengthen client retention, minimize risk, and improve profitability

  • Present pricing proposals, strategy, and positioning with key business partners and pricing team management

  • Continually prioritize requests to be completed based on a variety of factors including age, potential need for additional approvals, or client/advisor urgency

  • Proactively raise pricing issues, trends, and operational improvement opportunities, as appropriate

  • Support ad hoc project work, as needed

The Team

The WI pricing team is responsible for helping win new clients and retain our existing ones by analyzing and illustrating client profitability and ensuring our fees are market competitive. WI is an industry leader in the retirement and employer benefits industry and serves as the primary entry point into the Fidelity enterprise for a large portion of our clients.

Fidelity’s Onsite Working Model
Fidelity is transitioning to a full-time onsite working model through a phased rollout across regions and roles. Currently, some roles and locations require 100% onsite presence, while others require less. Onsite expectations are likely to evolve as the rollout continues. This transition does not apply to fully remote roles.
