Senior Backend Developer (Node.js)

Join Zeely AI as a Senior Backend Developer and help build one of the largest AI products for businesses. We're looking for a strong backend engineer who wants to work on high-load services, influence architectural decisions, and build systems that scale alongside a rapidly growing business.

Over the past six months, our backend team has grown to 14 engineers, and we're continuing to expand. Today, Zeely is the #1 AI product in its niche in the U.S. market, and our ambitious goal is to become a global company by 2028.

You'll be joining a strong engineering environment, working alongside former Tech Leads, Engineering Managers, and Senior Engineers who foster a high engineering standard, support each other's growth, and tackle complex technical challenges together.

Zeely AI is an AI-powered platform that helps businesses scale by creating viral UGC videos, generating ad creatives, and launching high-performing advertising campaigns across Meta and TikTok. Today, more than 1.5 million users rely on Zeely, and that number continues to grow every day.

Your key responsibilities:

• Developing and maintaining the back-end of web applications

• Designing and building REST APIs

• Working with PostgreSQL and Redis databases

• Integrating with third-party APIs

• Building and deploying applications on AWS (EC2, S3, CloudFront)

• Writing unit and integration tests

• Optimizing application performance

• Debugging and troubleshooting issues

• Writing technical documentation

• Conducting code reviews

What we’re looking for:

• 5+ years of commercial experience with Node.js applications

• 1+ years of experience with microservices architecture

• 2+ years of hands-on work with Redis and PostgreSQL/MySQL (data modeling, indexing, caching, ORM such as Prisma/TypeORM/Drizzle ORM)

• Experience with AWS

• 2+ years of experience with message brokers

• 1+ years of experience with Docker

• Understanding of scalable and reliable system design principles

• Experience with version control systems (Git)

Nice to have:

• 1+ years of experience with the NestJS framework

• Experience with payment systems

• Valid AWS certification

• Commercial experience with high-load systems

• Experience building back-end for iOS, Android, and web applications

• Experience with Terraform/Pulumi

• Commercial experience with AI APIs

• English level: Upper-Intermediate
