Job description

Position Summary

The Trainer is responsible for the development of program knowledge for onsite and virtual team members while maintaining a dynamic environment. Prepares, coordinates, schedules and conducts training for employees of the Service Desk in a positive professional manner.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Facilitates learning through multiple medium to include classroom instruction, e-learning and on-the-job training.
  • Plans and develops classes, workshops or other activities to meet identified training needs. 
  • Manages, designs and updates training curriculum and materials for all Service Desk positions. 
  • Conducts training needs analysis with management, subject matter experts and employee groups. 
  • Serves as a mentor for development of training skills. 
  • Learns new technologies and skills to broaden training capabilities for the Service Desk. 
  • Continues professional development and takes responsibility for learning new material. 
  • Maintains a minimum of 8 hours per month of required phone time, as available. 
  • During surge months, assists with call volume, floor walking, escalations, manual proofing, etc.

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

  • HS Graduate or GED Related Work Experience: 4-6 years 
  • Demonstrated ability to train and mentor employees. 
  • Solid presentation and facilitation skills. 
  • Ability to present complex information to a variety of audiences. 
  • Excellent interpersonal and oral/written communication skills. 
  • Self-starter with ability to independently accomplish tasks in a timely manner with minimal supervision.
  • Sets the standards for customer service, employee relations, and professional appearance. 
  • Ability to collaborate with employees and management.
  • Strong customer service background. 
  • Creative thinker that is willing to use constructive feedback to further improve training. 
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality. 
  • Preferred: One year of experience with needs analysis, curriculum design and training.

Compensation: $48,000 - $58,000
