Job description

We are sharing a specialised consulting opportunity for experienced U.S. litigation attorneys with strong expertise in commercial contract disputes, legal drafting, motion practice, discovery, case-theory development, and multi-turn litigation strategy to contribute to an advanced AI training and legal evaluation project.

Selected professionals will produce realistic litigation work product for evolving commercial contract disputes, respond to simulated opposing counsel positions, maintain a coherent case theory across multiple rounds, and develop structured evaluation criteria alongside their drafting. The work closely mirrors real litigation practice and requires strong written advocacy, procedural judgement, and the ability to incorporate senior feedback efficiently. No prior experience in AI is required.

Key Responsibilities

Commercial Contract Litigation

  • Apply substantive U.S. law and practical litigation judgement to evolving fact patterns
  • Develop arguments consistent with the applicable procedural posture and underlying case theory
  • Evaluate contractual language, factual disputes, and potential remedies
  • Maintain a coherent strategic position as new information and opposing arguments emerge

Litigation Drafting & Motion Practice

  • Draft motions, briefs, demand letters, discovery materials, and related litigation documents
  • Produce persuasive written advocacy grounded in applicable law and factual context
  • Apply professional legal drafting standards across pleadings and other work product
  • Address opposing positions through clear and strategically focused legal arguments
  • Maintain consistency in tone, legal register, and substantive reasoning

Multi-Turn Case Theory & Strategy

  • Respond to simulated opposing counsel moves across multiple engagement rounds
  • Preserve continuity in case theory, factual framing, and litigation strategy
  • Adapt arguments as scenarios, facts, or project direction evolve
  • Incorporate senior feedback efficiently into subsequent drafts
  • Demonstrate the ability to iterate without requiring repeated substantive redirection

Rubric Development & Legal Evaluation

  • Develop rubric items alongside litigation drafts
  • Define clear benchmarks for strong and persuasive legal responses
  • Identify essential legal issues, reasoning steps, and drafting elements expected in high-quality work
  • Apply U.S. commercial litigation standards when evaluating submissions
  • Contribute structured criteria that support consistent legal-quality assessment

Procedural & Factual Issue Identification

  • Identify procedural questions, missing information, and factual ambiguities
  • Flag issues that require additional direction from senior reviewers or project leads
  • Distinguish between reasonable assumptions and matters requiring clarification
  • Assess whether additional facts or legal authorities are needed before advancing a position
  • Maintain disciplined legal analysis in incomplete or evolving scenarios

Ideal Profile

  • Active or lapsed licence to practise law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction
  • Minimum of 3 years of substantive post-JD litigation experience
  • Strong hands-on experience with commercial contract disputes
  • Practical drafting experience involving motions, discovery, briefs, and related pleadings
  • Experience handling disputes involving breach of contract, performance, interpretation, or damages
  • Proven ability to draft litigation work product under senior or partner supervision
  • Strong understanding of case theory, litigation strategy, and procedural analysis
  • Exceptional written English and command of professional litigation drafting
  • Experience within BigLaw, boutique, or mid-market law firms is advantageous
  • Federal court litigation experience is beneficial
  • Previous participation in AI-related legal evaluation or training projects is advantageous but not required
