Job description

We are sharing a full-time opportunity for an experienced Defense & Cleared Workforce Recruiter with strong expertise in full-cycle recruiting, security-clearance requirements, cleared sourcing, military and veteran talent, and U.S. government-contracting workforce pipelines.

The role will focus on building and managing pipelines of highly qualified security-cleared professionals for mission-critical U.S. government and defence-sector positions. The ideal candidate combines deep familiarity with cleared talent markets, strong sourcing and stakeholder-management skills, and the ability to translate military backgrounds and clearance requirements into accurate role fit.

Key Responsibilities

Full-Cycle Cleared Recruiting

  • Manage end-to-end recruiting across a diverse portfolio of security-cleared roles
  • Source, evaluate, engage, and close candidates across multiple cleared domains and locations
  • Maintain ownership from initial outreach through qualification, interview coordination, and offer stages
  • Build structured recruiting workflows for hard-to-fill and location-constrained roles
  • Deliver a strong candidate experience throughout the hiring process

Cleared Talent Sourcing & Pipeline Development

  • Build and maintain pipelines of security-cleared professionals
  • Recruit across federal civilians, military officers, veterans, enlisted and NCO personnel, and professionals with prior U.S. government experience
  • Use specialised sourcing platforms such as ClearanceJobs, ClearedJobs.net, and comparable cleared-talent channels
  • Leverage military-transition networks including SkillBridge, TAP, and Hiring Our Heroes
  • Develop long-term candidate relationships within specialised defence and federal talent communities

Security Clearance Screening & Compliance

  • Screen candidates for clearance level, current status, eligibility, and relevant requirements
  • Work across clearance categories including Secret, TS, TS/SCI, and polygraph-related environments
  • Understand reactivation windows, reciprocity, and appropriate compliance boundaries
  • Use candidate self-reported information appropriately as an initial qualification step
  • Coordinate formal verification with Facility Security Officers and customer security teams

Military & Veteran Talent Translation

  • Interpret military occupational backgrounds, including MOS, rate, rank, and service history
  • Translate military experience into civilian and government-contracting role requirements
  • Engage credibly with transitioning service members and veterans
  • Help candidates understand how their operational experience maps to relevant opportunities
  • Build trust through informed and respectful communication with military communities

Hiring Manager & Stakeholder Partnership

  • Partner closely with hiring managers to define role requirements and candidate profiles
  • Set realistic recruiting timelines based on clearance, geography, and market constraints
  • Advise stakeholders on cleared-talent availability and sourcing strategy
  • Maintain clear communication throughout active searches
  • Track recruiting metrics and pipeline performance to support informed decision-making

Ideal Profile

  • 5–8 years of full-cycle recruiting experience
  • Significant experience recruiting cleared, defence, federal, or GovCon talent
  • Demonstrated success sourcing and placing security-cleared professionals
  • Strong understanding of U.S. security-clearance levels and processes
  • Familiarity with Secret, TS, TS/SCI, polygraph requirements, reciprocity, and reactivation considerations
  • Experience working with FSOs or customer security offices
  • Strong fluency in military and veteran backgrounds, including MOS and rate interpretation
  • Advanced sourcing, screening, candidate-engagement, and stakeholder-management skills
  • Experience building pipelines for hard-to-fill or geographically constrained positions
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Highly organised, metrics-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple requisitions
  • U.S.-based recruiting professional
  • Experience recruiting maritime, Navy, drone/UAS, combat-operator, or similarly specialised defence talent is advantageous
  • Background as a military recruiter, FSO, or veteran is beneficial
  • Familiarity with contingent, project-based, or RPO staffing models in the defence or federal sector is a plus

Engagement Details

  • Full-time engagement
  • Fully remote
  • Open to U.S.-based candidates only
  • Compensation: $35–$65/hour
  • Role will focus on cleared recruiting, defence-sector sourcing, military and veteran talent, and government-contracting workforce pipelines
  • Strong knowledge of clearance processes and compliance boundaries is central to the role
  • Work will involve collaboration with hiring managers, FSOs, customer security teams, and specialised candidate communities
  • Recruiting priorities, locations, and clearance requirements may vary depending on active roles and programme needs
