About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Accounts Assistant to support day-to-day finance operations, with a strong focus on Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable. The ideal candidate is organised, detail-oriented, proactive, and comfortable managing finance tasks independently while working with an Australian-based team.
Key Responsibilities
Manage the accounts inbox and handle or escalate queries.
Process supplier invoices accurately and on time, ensuring proper approvals and payment terms are followed.
Manage payment runs, supplier reconciliations, and corporate card transactions.
Maintain supplier records and resolve invoice queries and discrepancies.
Issue customer invoices and credit notes.
Monitor receivables, follow up overdue accounts, and reconcile customer payments.
Assist with payroll processing and timesheet reconciliation.
Maintain accurate financial records, documentation, and filing.
Assist with reporting, audits, finance projects, and ad-hoc finance requests.
Identify process improvements and support efficient finance workflows.
Provide general administrative support to the Accounts Manager.
Qualifications & Experience
At least 2 years of relevant finance or accounting experience.
Proven experience in Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable.
Strong understanding of bookkeeping and basic accounting principles.
Proficient in Xero and SAP S/4HANA.
Experience with MYOB, QuickBooks, or similar cloud accounting systems.
Knowledge of Employment Hero, Lightyear, or Weel is an advantage.
Experience supporting Australian businesses preferred.
Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and problem-solving skills.
Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
Proactive, organised, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
Finance or accounting background.
