General Description

The Regional Market Executive serves as a trusted regional relationship leader who strengthens Urban Strategies' presence, partnerships, visibility, ecosystem engagement, and collaboration opportunities within a designated geographic area. The role develops and stewards strategic relationships, supports cross-program connectivity, represents Urban Strategies in regional networks, and provides local insight that helps inform partnership and engagement strategies. The role supports collaboration on well-defined initiatives that strengthen place-based work, support replication of effective models, attract resources and expertise, and to transformative impact for communities.

 The ideal candidate is a highly respected and well-connected relational leader with deep roots in their community and an established network that spans faith-based, nonprofit, civic, philanthropic, educational, and business sectors. They are a strategic thinker who understands community ecosystems, can identify opportunities for partnership and growth, and effectively connect people, resources, and initiatives to advance shared goals. This individual is a natural connector and collaborator who excels at building trust, cultivating relationships, and convening diverse stakeholders. They align strongly with Urban Strategies' mission and values, demonstrate integrity and servant leadership, and possess the ability to represent the organization with credibility and influence. Most importantly, they bring existing relationships, strategic insight, and a community-centered approach that can generate meaningful impact from day one while strengthening Urban Strategies' visibility, partnerships, and regional engagement efforts.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience in partnership development, community engagement, nonprofit leadership, public affairs, faith-based leadership, education, advocacy, fundraising, cross-sector collaboration, or a related field. 
  • Established credibility and relationship-building capacity within the designated community, region, or relevant professional networks. 
  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships across multiple sectors and connect people, organizations, and opportunities. 
  • Strong strategic and systems-thinking skills with the ability to identify alignment points, regional opportunities, and community dynamics. 
  • Strong verbal, written, networking, public speaking, and interpersonal communication skills. 
  • Ability to work collaboratively across programs, functions, organizations, and community networks. 
  • Ability to represent Urban Strategies professionally and exercise sound judgment in external-facing environments. 
  • Commitment to community-centered, relationship-driven work and collaborative leadership. 
  • Must have ability to travel at any moment. 

What You’ll Be Doing

Partnership Development 

  • Build, cultivate, and steward relationships with key stakeholders and partners throughout the designated geographic area.
  • Identify partnership opportunities and maintain a partnership pipeline aligned with Urban Strategies priorities, and connect appropriate programmatic staff to prospective partners. 
  • Strengthen engagement across faith-based, nonprofit, civic, philanthropic, education, business, and community sectors. 
  • Help develop and maintain sustainable regional relationship infrastructure that supports continuity beyond individual staff relationships.

Regional Visibility and Representation 

  • Represent Urban Strategies at appropriate regional meetings, events, partnership opportunities, and community gatherings. 
  • Increase awareness and understanding of Urban Strategies programs, initiatives, mission, and regional presence. 
  • Serve as a trusted regional representative and relationship lead while maintaining alignment with organizational priorities and leadership direction. 

Cross-Program Connectivity 

  • Identify opportunities for shared engagement, communication, and coordination across Urban Strategies programs and initiatives operating within the market. 
  • Support stronger collaboration among program teams and help increase awareness of regional activities, relationships, and opportunities. 
  • Connect relevant organizations, leaders, and opportunities to the appropriate Urban Strategies initiatives. 

Strategic Insight, Advising, and Planning 

  • Develop a local partnership strategy, including building relationships and collaborative opportunities to advance the mission of Urban Strategies.
  • Monitor regional trends, community needs, partnership opportunities, and emerging developments that may affect Urban Strategies' engagement efforts. 
  • Provide regional relationship insight and ecosystem intelligence to Urban Strategies leadership and local teams. 
  • Collaborate with leadership and program teams to identify and advance regional relationship, partnership, ecosystem, and growth opportunities. 
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of market-specific engagement strategies aligned with Urban Strategies priorities. 

Regional Engagement and Convening 

  • Support strategic gatherings, ecosystem engagement opportunities, and collaborative convenings. 
  • With support from programmatic coordinators and staff, help convene partners, leaders, and stakeholders when appropriate. 
  • Strengthen shared awareness, collaboration, and communication across regional networks. 

Relationship Infrastructure and Reporting 

  • Maintain appropriate visibility of regional relationships, engagement activities, opportunities, and relevant follow-up through organizational reporting structures. 
  • Support the use of shared relationship-management systems, including CRM infrastructure as implemented by Urban Strategies. 
  • Participate in regional and cross-program coordination meetings, learning sessions, and other alignment activities. 
  • Support relationship navigation and timely regional communication to strengthen continuity and responsiveness.
