Job description

This role is fully remote but does require you to be based in Johannesburg ideally or Cape Town.

We are looking for a practical, detail‑oriented Product Designer to create clear, user‑friendly interfaces across our digital products. You will focus on producing high‑quality UX and UI design work, supporting feature delivery, and ensuring our products look and feel consistent. This is a hands‑on role suited to someone who enjoys solving design problems, creating polished interfaces, and working closely with product and engineering teams.

Job Description

  • Design and deliver end‑to‑end product experiences that are intuitive, cohesive, and user‑centric.
  • Distil complex challenges into systematic, scalable solutions, refining them iteratively as needed.
  • Ensure a consistent and unified user experience across the product ecosystem.
  • Communicate design thinking through wireframes, prototypes, sketches, user flows, mockups, and high‑fidelity visual designs.
  • Investigate usability pain points and apply UX heuristics to improve clarity and ease of use.
  • Conduct research to inform design decisions, product direction and identify opportunities.
  • Define, evolve, and maintain the Design System, ensuring design quality, consistency, and scalability.
  • Develop and maintain usage guidelines, reusable components, content standards, and usability documentation to support speed‑to‑market for product teams.

Collaboration & Delivery

  • Collaborate closely with Product Managers, Engineers, and stakeholders to plan, design, and implement new features.
  • Analyse business rules, technical constraints, and requirements to ensure feasible and effective design solutions.
  • Participate in grooming and planning sessions to clarify design needs.
  • Present designs to team members, gather feedback, and adjust accordingly.
  • Support engineers during development with assets, clarifications, and design updates.

Requirements

  • Tertiary qualification in Design, Interaction Design, HCI, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 5 year hands‑on work experience designing digital interfaces, preferably in SaaS or B2B products.
  • Strong proficiency in Figma and prototyping tools.
  • Solid understanding of UX principles, UI fundamentals, and design workflows.
