Job description

Catalyst Consulting Group is Government Technology Services Vendor, headquartered in Chicago that has been servicing public sector clients for 35 years. Tools in our company toolbelt include Salesforce, AWS, Java, .NET, React Native, MuleSoft, and many other platforms which we offer to deliver our customers best of breed systems that revolutionize the way they conduct internal and constituent facing interactions. We are expanding our footprint across North America and look forward to starting many new projects in the next few months. We are seeking a skilled and experienced Product Designer to lead the design of Catalyst’s digital products and services. The right candidate will lead product design across complex digital products, translating user and business needs into intuitive, enterprise-level solutions.

Responsibilities: 

  • Lead product design for web and mobile applications, incorporating business goals, user needs, technical constraints, and design standards. 
  • Collaborate with product managers and developers to define product requirements, and develop prototypes that support different user roles, permissions, and workflows. 
  • Structure application information and functionality in a logical and intuitive way that is clear for collaborating with team members as well as the end user.  
  • Conduct user research and usability testing to validate design and product decisions and ensure a positive user experience. 
  • Design responsive interfaces that adapt to different devices and screen sizes and incorporate icons, illustrations, and other brand guidelines as needed. 
  • Develop and maintain design systems and style guides to ensure consistency across all digital products and services. 

Requirements: 

  • 5+ years of experience in product design, with a portfolio that demonstrates a strong understanding of product thinking, systems thinking and user-centered design principles. 
  • Experience designing complex enterprise software and/or SaaS products, including applications with different user roles, permissions, and workflows. 
  • System thinking experience, with demonstrated understanding of how different components, workflows, and users interact with an application. 
  • Experience taking complex problems from initiation through completion, working with developers and other cross-functional team members to validate designs
    and improve systems. 
  • Expertise design tools such as Sketch, Figma, or Adobe XD. 
  • Understanding of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, and their impact on design decisions. 
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to articulate design rationale to clients and stakeholders. 
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

How we’ll set you up for success (Full-Time Salary): 

  • Salary range of $115,000 to $135,000 a year*

*Compensation for this role varies based on several factors including qualifications, skills, competencies, location, and experience 


Compensation: $115,000 - $135,000
