The Technology Services Department (TS) of the City and County of Denver use state-of-the-art technologies and methodologies to deliver and improve the systems, applications, and operations to our customers. What We Offer

The City and County of Denver offers a competitive salary commensurate with education and experience. The hiring range for this position is $28.00 - $31.00/hour, based on experience and education. We also offer generous benefits for full-time employees which include but are not limited to:

Location

This is a customer-facing position that is in person and will be located at the Richard T. Castro Building at 1200 Federal Boulevard, Denver, CO 80204. After passing a 6-month probation period, one work from home day per week may be an option as business needs allow. The candidate selected for this position will also need to operate a City vehicle and travel to varying locations in the Denver Metro area.

What You’ll Do

As an IT Desktop Support Technician on our team, you will be responsible for supporting hardware and software at Denver’s Department of Human Services. You will work with other technicians to resolve issues and document the resolution.

Responsibilities

  • Install, move, replace, and repair computer hardware and software.
  • Document incidents and requests worked in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Maintain computerized inventory of equipment and specialized services.
  • Support and troubleshoot computer peripherals and mobile devices in a production setting.
  • Maintain existing technical procedures, documentation, and operational instructions in our organization’s knowledge base.
  • Assist and support remote and on-site staff.
  • Coordinate with vendors for warranty repair of technology hardware.
  • Communicate effectively with customers and teammates in both written and verbal forms.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What You’ll Bring

  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Well-rounded knowledge of Microsoft Windows operating system support.
  • Experience supporting Microsoft Office Suite applications.
  • Experience using Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager/System Center Configuration Manager and/or Microsoft InTune.
  • Familiarity with ServiceNow ITSM is a plus.
  • Ability to physically perform tasks that involve walking, standing, reaching, bending, crouching, and lifting up to 50 lbs.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Education requirement: Graduation from high school or the possession of a GED, HiSET or TASC Certificate.
  • Experience Requirement: Four (4) years of Information Technology experience performing user support of desktop, legacy systems and/or Information Technology communications systems.
  • Education/Experience Equivalency: Additional appropriate education may be substituted for the minimum experience requirement.
  • License/Certifications: Requires a valid Driver's License at the time of application.
  • Must obtain Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) clearance within the probationary period.
