Job Description Summary:
The Privacy Systems Director manages the overarching technology blueprint and systems used to enable Privacy, AI, Data governance, and Legal Operations activity. By architecting scalable, automated workflows, this role directly drives digital transformation and operational efficiency across the entire Legal and Compliance function.
Your Role:
Enterprise Legal & Privacy Architecture - Design and dictate the strategic technology blueprint for the Chief Compliance and Legal offices. Establish binding technical standards for systems like OneTrust, ensuring they are optimally architected to enforce compliance-by-design across the enterprise and seamlessly integrate with InfoSec and IT infrastructure.
Legal Operations & Technology Strategy - Evaluate, implement, and govern the broader Legal technology stack (e.g., eDiscovery, Contract Lifecycle Management, Matter Management). Serve as the technical heartbeat of the Legal department by architecting solutions that resolve complex operational bottlenecks for attorneys and internal stakeholders.
Automation & AI Implementation - Identify and execute opportunities for adding AI and automation into existing compliance workflows. Design logic and automated responses to ensure the business is supported in highly efficient ways, delivering measurable ROI through reduced manual overhead.
Tooling Strategy, P&L & Vendor Management - Evaluate, select, and manage third-party software vendors that provide privacy/GRC and Legal Ops solutions. Own the financial budget and P&L for these technology investments, driving enterprise contract negotiations and maintaining a strategic roadmap for system upgrades.
Privacy Incident Management & Data Enablement Tooling - Develop, configure, and maintain the technical infrastructure required to support Privacy Incident Management. Ensure incident response and AI & Data Enablement teams have the exact tools needed to rapidly intake, triage, and enforce allowlists.
Skills & Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree; Master's degree preferred
10+ years in Enterprise Architecture, Legal Operations, Privacy Engineering, or Information Security
Strong understanding of LLMs, OneTrust, and generating requirements for DSPM/DLP tools.
Deep knowledge of GDPR, CCPA, and emerging frameworks (NIST, EU AI Act).
Expertise in evaluating and implementing Legal Operations technologies (e.g., CLM, eDiscovery).
12+ years acting as a functional lead in GRC, Legal Tech, or Privacy architecture, preferred.
CIPP/E, CIPT, CISSP, or equivalent certifications preferred.
