Job description

Job Overview

LSI is seeking a Senior Government Logistics Engagement Advisor to support its presence and engagement within the Wright-Patterson AFB community. This role is designed for a highly experienced professional who understands the local acquisition, logistics, and operational environment and can help LSI navigate relationships, priorities, and processes across the Air Force ecosystem.

The Advisor will leverage prior experience, professional relationships, and organizational insight to help LSI better understand how work is executed across System Program Offices (SPOs), AFRL, supply chain, and supporting organizations. This position is focused on advising, connecting, and facilitating effective engagement within the government environment — not direct sales.

This is an excellent opportunity for a senior military or civilian professional looking to remain connected to the mission while providing strategic guidance and insight in a flexible consulting capacity.

Key Responsibilities

Government Engagement & Insight

  • Maintain relationships with stakeholders across assigned organizations, including SPOs, AFRL, supply chain, and supporting entities
  • Provide insight into organizational structures, priorities, and operational decision-making processes
  • Help LSI understand timing, expectations, and procedural considerations that influence engagement and execution
  • Offer perspective on government culture, communication practices, and organizational dynamics

Access & Coordination

  • Facilitate introductions, meetings, and site visits between LSI, clients, and appropriate government personnel
  • Help ensure interactions are aligned with government protocols and expectations
  • Advise on effective communication and coordination pathways within the Wright-Patterson AFB environment
  • Support productive engagement opportunities while maintaining professionalism and compliance standards

Opportunity Awareness & Alignment

  • Provide awareness of emerging needs, priorities, and mission areas where LSI capabilities may align
  • Help interpret requirements, acquisition timelines, and government approaches based on prior experience
  • Assist in identifying areas where LSI and client solutions may support mission objectives
  • Share insight regarding organizational focus areas and evolving priorities

Advisory Support to LSI Leadership

  • Provide strategic perspective and operational context to LSI leadership and business development teams
  • Contribute insight during planning discussions and proposal support efforts as needed
  • Help ensure LSI’s engagement approach reflects an informed understanding of the local operating environment
  • Serve as a trusted advisor regarding stakeholder engagement and relationship management

Required Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience working with or within Wright-Patterson AFB
  • Strong familiarity with SPOs, AFRL, and/or Air Force supply chain organizations
  • Deep understanding of the Air Force acquisition environment and depot-level operations
  • Established network of relationships across relevant organizations
  • Ability to navigate both formal processes and informal organizational dynamics
  • Strong communication, relationship-building, and advisory skills
  • Must reside within 30 miles from Wright Patterson AFB

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior military or civilian experience supporting Air Force logistics or acquisition programs
  • Background equivalent to GS-12 through GS-14, O-4 through O-6, or similar senior-level experience
  • Experience working alongside contractors or supporting government-industry collaboration
  • Familiarity with proposal development, requirements generation, or acquisition planning processes
  • Prior involvement with mission support, sustainment, or logistics operations

Work Arrangement

  • Part-time, flexible 1099-consulting arrangement
  • Approximately 10–20 hours per month
  • Additional support hours may occasionally be requested and coordinated in advance
  • Primarily focused on relationship engagement and advisory support within the Wright-Patterson AFB community

What Success Looks Like

  • LSI is engaging with the right stakeholders at the right time
  • LSI has stronger insight into priorities, processes, and expectations at Wright-Patterson AFB
  • Meetings and engagements are more productive and aligned with government norms
  • LSI gains earlier awareness of relevant mission needs and opportunities
  • LSI is viewed as a credible, informed, and connected partner within the WPAFB community
