  • Build and maintain reproducible, well-documented code and outputs that others on the team can pick up and understand
  • Manage multiple concurrent requests and shifting priorities without dropping quality

Job description

Summary:
We're looking for a Senior RWD Programmer to support a growing HEOR & RWE analytics function. This role is hands-on: you'll be writing R and SQL against large real-world claims and EHR datasets to answer specific analytic and study questions, working closely with the team's analytics leadership to translate research questions into clean, reproducible code.

Responsibilities:
  • Write R and SQL programs to extract, clean, and analyze data from claims, EHR, and other real-world data sources
  • Translate study specifications and ad hoc analytic requests into programming plans, flagging ambiguities before they become rework
  • Build and maintain reproducible, well-documented code and outputs that others on the team can pick up and understand
  • Manage multiple concurrent requests and shifting priorities without dropping quality
  • Communicate progress, blockers, and results clearly to non-programming stakeholders
  • Can work independently and efficiently to meet aggressive timelines where needed
  • Adapt to rapidly changing priorities
Qualifications:
  • Master's degree (or higher) in epidemiology, biostatistics, health services research, public health, or a related quantitative field, plus 5+ years of hands-on programming experience with healthcare data
  • Strong, demonstrable R and SQL skills as the primary toolset; SAS proficiency is a plus but not required
  • Direct experience programming against administrative claims data (e.g., MarketScan, Optum, Medicare LDS SAF, Komodo) and/or EHR data
  • Working knowledge of common analytic methods used in RWE (e.g., survival analysis, GLMs)
  • Claude Code-assisted programming experience preferred
