Hatch Studio

Software Development

We are an engineering studio that uses Agentic Engineering to build custom, industrial-grade software that your company actually owns. By combining senior architectural oversight with AI-driven execution, we deliver proprietary systems 3–5x faster than traditional methods—without compromising on security or code quality. How we work: → Human-Led Strategy: Your project is led by senior architects with 15+ years of experience building systems for companies like EA, Epic Games, and LucasArts. We handle the design, security, and logic. → Agent-Accelerated Execution: We use specialized AI "agent swarms" to handle the heavy lifting of code generation. This isn't "vibe coding"—it is a deterministic, audited process that delivers production-ready software at a fraction of the usual cost. → Total Ownership: When we’re done, you own the IP, the data, and the roadmap. No per-seat licenses, no vendor lock-in, and no "black box" dependencies. Who we help: → High-Velocity Teams: Companies that need to ship complex features or platforms in weeks, not quarters. → The "No-Dev" Enterprise: Organizations that need custom technology assets but don't want the overhead of managing a massive internal engineering department. → SaaS-Heavy Businesses: Teams looking to replace expensive, generic subscriptions with lean, custom tools built specifically for their workflows. Software is a capital asset, not a monthly bill. Let’s build something you own.

Job description

About Us!

We are a product-driven team focused on building custom software solutions that solve real business problems. We work closely across engineering, product, and design to create scalable systems, internal tools, and data driven platforms that deliver real impact. Our culture values speed, ownership, and practical execution, allowing us to turn complex ideas into production ready solutions quickly.

About The Role

We are looking for a hands-on Senior Product Designer who deeply balances end-to-end UX architecture and visual craft. You will take ownership of critical product areas—from framing complex problems and designing flows to refining UI motion, gestures, and interactive mechanics.

This is not a generalist role where craft or motion is an afterthought. We need someone who has owned features end-to-end and has a sharp eye for interaction detail, state changes, and delightful motion.

You will be working in a design-driven, fast-paced environment with minimal management and high autonomy. You need to be a self-starter who excels at making your own decisions, setting scope, and organizing your work to ship impactful experiences.

This is a remote position with working hours that must align with Eastern Time (EST) business hours.

You will

  • End-to-End Ownership: Frame problems, design flows, and resolve states and edge cases to take features from rough concept to shipped experiences.
  • Build Visual & Motion Language: Design the visual craft, UI transitions, state changes, loading states, gestures, and celebration moments across core mechanics.
  • Scope & Sequence: Make crisp calls on feature scope and sequencing, balancing big-picture strategy with pixel-level execution.
  • Advocate for Design: Champion the user experience and maintain an exceptionally high bar for product quality, polish, and emotional resonance.

You have

  • Experience: 5+ years of experience designing and shipping consumer products, with a history of owning major features end-to-end.
  • Portfolio: A showcase of top-tier interaction design, high visual craft (type, spacing, color, hierarchy, restraint), and thoughtful motion.
  • Technical Curiosity: Drive to build and ship front-end code rather than perfecting mockups in Figma, combined with an active curiosity for AI.
  • Autonomy: Proven ability to thrive in a high-agency, remote-first environment with minimal top-down direction.
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Flexible to attend remote meetings during the evening, when required
  • Must be a resident of Canada and be eligible to work in Canada.
  • Ability to work during Eastern Time Zone regular business hours.

Nice-to-Haves

  • UI Motion Specialization: Deep background in UI motion or graphics, with expertise in tools like After Effects, Rive, or interactive prototyping engines.
  • Game & Behavioural Design: Strong instinct for game feel—triggers, timing, feedback, and reward loops.
  • Startup Agility: Early-stage startup experience, ideally as an early or founding design hire.
  • Passions & Experiments: Hands-on AI experiments and a genuine interest in social, sports, or play-driven products.
