Job Description:

Overview: The Consumer Insights & Analytics group is looking for a motivated self-starter co-op to join our inaugural Data Science team. This opportunity allows student to gain hands-on experience in a collaborative environment helping our TJX's North American brands to develop a deep understanding of our customer’s behavior across our businesses. The Data Science co-op will support data science efforts that improve marketing effectiveness, customer value and drive greater customer engagement with our brands instore and online. Responsibilities: Projects and responsibilities could include: Performing data cleaning and transformation, training and evaluating Statistical and Machine Learning models, translating model outputs into meaningful findings, and delivering insights that can influence business process and deepen customer understanding Creating dashboards and building reporting to support our business partners in Customer Insights, Marketing, Digital/eCommerce, Store Operations, Loyalty, and Finance with data driven insights. Collaborating with our business partners on ad hoc analyses, ensuring their questions receive accurate and informed responses. Who we are looking for: We are looking for current students who are highly motivated self-starters, with the ability to prioritize effectively, be proactive and flexible, and demonstrate a strong bias for action in a fast-paced professional environment. Additional skills include: Problem solvers who can think creatively. Excellent communicators able to deliver results concisely and effectively. Strong quantitative and analytical skills. Ability to adjust direction under constantly changing business conditions and needs. Experience with SQL, experience with Cloud-based platform a plus Experience with R, Python or other programming languages. Experience with well-known quantitative techniques such as regression, significance testing, multivariate analysis. Experience with Microsoft Excel (i.e. pivot tables, charts, v-look up, etc.) and Microsoft Office. Key Qualifications: Students eligible for an intermediate or advanced co-op Data Science majors preferred (consideration may also be given to Computer Science, Mathematics, or other related major)
