Goldbelt Professional Services specializes in providing expert resources for Public Health missions including scientific, technical, and administrative support from junior staff to high-level subject matter experts. Research and data driven, Goldbelt Professional Services’ experts create solutions customized to the client’s needs. 

Summary:

Goldbelt Professional Services is seeking a Public Health Analyst II to provide senior programmatic and analytic support for the NHSN system within DHQP Surveillance Branch.

Responsibilities:

Essential Job Functions:

  • Senior-level program support to prepare responses to NHSN users (approximately 10,000–15,000 users) who request technical expertise regarding the function and use of the NHSN Dialysis Event/HAI modules, including thorough understanding of the application from a user perspective.
  • Conduct user outreach and education and provide consultation and technical assistance to dialysis provider groups, quality improvement organizations, and health departments to support their HAI prevention, surveillance, and response activities and to meet NHSN data quality needs.
  • Troubleshoot NHSN system issues and create and apply modifications to improve data quality and other system attributes, tracking these modifications.
  • Update surveillance forms, instructions, and protocols, and make improvement recommendations.
  • Create new NHSN data validation projects to evaluate and improve data quality.
  • Work with Division SMEs to identify and address opportunities to enhance usability of NHSN surveillance data for HAI prevention efforts.
  • Manage reports, data file exchanges, and file exchange agreements between CDC and healthcare facilities.
  • Review CMS documents and user inquiries and create draft responses related to NHSN and CMS quality incentive programs.
  • Handle inquiries from existing and prospective NHSN Dialysis Event module users, provide enrollment information, and provide user support regarding correct application of HAI definitions, criteria, and data entry.
  • Identify user/system issues requiring system modifications; contribute to development and prioritization of NHSN system modifications.
  • Develop NHSN Immunization modules and mechanisms for electronic reporting to NHSN.
  • Communicate with users and provide technical expertise to improve user interface and analytic and group user functions.
  • Prepare and present educational trainings about NHSN to professional organizations and governmental bodies at national, state, and local levels.
  • Write and review new training/educational documents and outreach messages, ensuring consistency with CDC and other related organizations.
  • Create prevention materials and communications for CDC Vaccine SMEs and members of the CDC Making Dialysis Safer for Patients Coalition.
  • Provide meeting support, including development of technical content, agenda setting, and materials related to NHSN, the Coalition, and vaccine safety infection prevention efforts.
  • Promote CDC-recommended HAI prevention strategies with partners.
  • Write and review content for the CDC Dialysis Safety webpage, ensuring consistency with CDC and other related organizations.
  • Perform data management and cleaning, including analyses to assess data quality.
  • Review and develop website materials and other communications related to infection prevention, surveillance, and response.
  • Participate during CDC response activities and training exercises under direction of the DHQP Team Lead; duties include staffing the EOC desk to help support CDC's mission.

  • Expertise in project management tools and software, including but not limited to: Excel, PowerPoint, Access, SharePoint, and OneNote.
  • Demonstrates excellent written and verbal communication in interpersonal exchanges.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Health Administration, Communications, or a related field.
  • 1-2 years of relevant experience in program analysis, public health, healthcare, research, or a related field.
  • Previous experience working with the government procedures and guidelines.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain CDC Public Trust Clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Public Health, Health Administration, Communications, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience in program analysis, public health, healthcare, research, or a related field.
  • Prior experience working with the CDC is highly desired to understand the culture and environment

Pay and Benefits

The salary range for this position is $105,000 to $115,000 annually.
