Summary:
Goldbelt Professional Services is seeking a Data Analyst II to provide data analysis support for the Medical Product Safety Branch (MPSB).
Responsibilities:
Essential Job Functions:
- Support the Medical Product Safety Branch, working with a multidisciplinary team.
- Develop analytic plans for research studies using large, relational administrative datasets to address medication safety questions and inform digital quality measures.
- Perform data analysis of large datasets using R and/or Python, attending trainings on new programming languages as needed.
- Translate SAS code to R.
- Serve as an analyst, independently or as part of a team, on public health programs, projects, and studies.
- Provide consultation support on program standards, policies, strategies, goals, and evaluation plans.
- Participate during CDC response activities and training exercises under direction of the DHQP Team Lead; duties include staffing the EOC desk to help support CDC's mission.
Qualifications:
Necessary Skills and Knowledge:
- Knowledge of the principles, concepts, methods, and techniques of public health research and evaluation to analyze, evaluate, and provide expert advice and consultation.
- Knowledge of the principles, methods, applications, and state-of-the-art technology in the position's scientific area of responsibility to provide direction and guidance on critical and complex issues.
- Ability to communicate orally and in writing to make clear, convincing presentations.
- Knowledge of the rules, procedures, and principles that govern intramural and extramural program development, monitoring, and evaluation.
- Highly proficient in using Microsoft Office Tools (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Teams, and SharePoint).
- Excellent judgment and decision-making; capable of working independently with ability to multitask successfully.
- Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication in interpersonal exchanges.
- Highly organized with great attention to detail.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Data Science, Public Health, or related field.
- 1 – 2 years of experience providing public health data analysis and manipulating, cleaning, and reporting data using a variety of statistical functions.
- Professional working knowledge of R and/or Python is required.
- Knowledge of data management systems and application of data management software.
- Previous experience working with the government procedures and guidelines.
- Ability to obtain and maintain CDC Public Trust Clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Statistics, Data Science, Public Health, or related field.
- 3 – 5 years of experience providing public health data analysis and manipulating, cleaning, and reporting data using a variety of statistical functions.
- Prior experience working with the CDC is highly desired to understand the culture and environment.
Pay and Benefits
The salary range for this position is $90,000.00 to $100,000.00 annually.
