Fully Remote (U.S. Only): This is a fully remote position, allowing you to work from home or location of record within the U.S. with no in-office requirements.  You must be available five days per week during designated work hours.  The work arrangement for this role is subject to change based on business needs and individual performance. This may include adjustments to on-site requirements or schedule expectations, as necessary.

Position Overview

Paylocity is looking for an Anaplan Systems Analyst to join our FP&A Finance Systems team. In this role you will design, build, and maintain Anaplan models that support our financial planning and reporting processes. You will report directly to the Senior Anaplan Architect and work closely with FP&A and Finance stakeholders to translate business requirements into scalable, well-structured model solutions.

This is a hands-on builder role — you will spend most of your time in the model, owning modules end to end from requirements through testing and deployment. The ideal candidate brings both technical Anaplan depth and enough FP&A fluency to work productively with Finance teams and understand the business context behind what they are building.

Primary Responsibilities

The below represents the primary duties of the position, others may be assigned as needed. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

  • Build and maintain Anaplan models across financial planning use cases including revenue, expense, headcount, and ASC 606 amortization
  • Partner directly with FP&A teams to gather requirements, understand planning workflows, and deliver solutions that fit how Finance works
  • Translate business requirements into well-structured Anaplan modules, line items, lists, and formulas
  • Work with the Senior Architect to implement model design best practices including time dimensions, version structures, and calculation hierarchies
  • Support integrations between Anaplan and Source systems including NetSuite, ensuring data flows accurately into and out of the model
  • Troubleshoot formula errors, performance issues, and unexpected model behavior
  • Manage model changes through Dev, QA, and production environments
  • Support UAT with Finance stakeholders — help them understand what to test and why
  • Document model logic, change history, and build decisions clearly for stakeholder and team reference
  • Support onboarding of new versions and scenarios, including version property management and configuration
  • Update and audit User Access permissions for end users
  • Perform data auditing and validation with source systems

Education and Experience

  • 2-4+ years of hands-on Anaplan model building experience with Anaplan Model Builder certification (L1, L2)
  • Experience working directly with FP&A teams or a background in FP&A — you understand how Finance teams plan, forecast, and report
  • Proficiency in Anaplan formula writing including LOOKUP, OFFSET, RANKBY, conditional logic, and time-based calculations
  • Strong understanding of Anaplan model architecture — lists, modules, time dimensions, versions, and hierarchy structures
  • Familiarity with NetSuite or similar ERP systems, particularly as a data source for Anaplan models
  • Ability to read and extend existing model logic without breaking downstream dependencies
  • Strong communicator — comfortable working directly with Finance and non-technical stakeholders
  • Detail-oriented with a structured approach to testing and validation

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit for extended periods (typically 7–8 hours per day).
  • Ability to use a computer, phone systems, and multiple software applications simultaneously.
  • Ability to create, edit, and present digital materials and documentation.

Nice to Haves

  • Experience with ASC 606 or similar revenue/cost capitalization and amortization models
  • Hands-on FP&A experience — financial modeling, variance analysis, or close processes
  • Experience building or maintaining integrations with Anaplan
  • Experience at a SaaS or subscription company

Who You'll Work With

You will report to the Senior Anaplan Architect and work closely with FP&A, Accounting, and Finance Operations teams. You will also collaborate with IT and data teams on system integrations and data governance.
