Job Description:

OneOncology's IT Operations team is the engine that keeps the infrastructure, identity, and management platform running for every OneOncology practice. IT Operations owns proactive monitoring, patching, backup, identity governance, network engineering, and Tier 3 escalation across the enterprise.

The Network Engineer II is a senior engineer accountable for the technical design and integrity of the network domain — enterprise switching, routing, wireless, perimeter firewalls, and voice/telephony systems. The role acts as Tier 3 escalation authority and standards owner within the network domain. The ideal candidate brings deep networking expertise, sound architecture judgment across cost, complexity, and security, and strong vendor management skills.

This is a full-time, remote position supporting multiple practice locations and requires regular travel between sites. Candidates located in the South Florida area are strongly preferred.

Responsibilities:

  • Own network architecture and standards across switching, routing, wireless, perimeter firewalls, and voice/telephony infrastructure.

  • Lead design reviews for practice-side network changes and net-new implementations.

  • Act as Tier 3 escalation authority for major network incidents.

  • Drive tool and vendor evaluations for network platforms.

  • Mentor Network Engineers and Administrators on architecture and standards.

  • Represent the network domain in security reviews, audits, and compliance work.

  • Contribute to standards evolution and the IT Standards Matrix.

  • Partner with Projects on complex network deliveries and clean hand-offs.

  • Coordinate with Systems Engineering on integration points between network and systems.

  • Manage strategic ISP and telecom vendor relationships.

  • Participate in on-call rotation.

  • Occasional travel to practice sites, if needed.

  • Additional responsibilities as assigned to help drive our mission of improving the lives of everyone living with cancer.

Required or Preferred Qualifications (specify within):

  • 8 to 10 years of progressive network engineering experience

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field preferred; equivalent experience considered.

  • Experience with voice/telephony platforms (VoIP, SIP trunking, UCaaS, or contact center solutions)

  • Experience with the following is a plus: Aruba switching/wireless, Palo Alto firewalls, Fortinet, Auvik, and ServiceNow.

Preferred

  • Healthcare-related experience

  • Managed Service Provider (MSP) experience

  •   Senior-level or expert technical certifications, such as Aruba ACMA/ACMX, Palo Alto PCNSE, or Cisco CCNP.

Essential Competencies:

  • Multi-platform network engineering strength across switching, routing, wireless, and firewalls.

  • Architecture judgment across cost, complexity, and security dimensions.

  • Vendor and stakeholder management skills for network platforms and ISPs.

  • Excellent technical writing and design communication.

  • Working understanding of systems and identity sufficient to design integrated solutions.
