Australian Payroll Institute (API) is a specialist provider of nationally recognised payroll education and professional development for payroll professionals across Australia.

Job Description

API is seeking an experienced payroll and accounting professional to mark assessments for its online programs on an ad hoc, independent contractor basis.

Responsibilities include:

  • Marking student submissions using API’s approved rubrics and assessment materials.
  • Providing accurate grades and constructive feedback.
  • Applying the Principles of Assessment and Rules of Evidence.
  • Completing allocated marking within eight business days, unless otherwise agreed.
  • Maintaining required marking records and documentation.

Contractors work flexibly and independently while meeting agreed quality standards and deadlines.

Qualifications

Applicants should have relevant payroll, accounting, bookkeeping or vocational assessment experience. Knowledge across several of the following units is preferred:

  • BSBHRM416 – Process Payroll
  • FNSACC418 – Work Effectively in Accounting and Bookkeeping
  • FNSACC523 – Manage Budgets and Forecasts
  • NAT11102001 – Comply with Legislation and Codes of Practice
  • BSBFIN401 – Report on Financial Activity

Broad experience across the following qualifications is highly desirable:

  • 11101NAT Certificate IV in Payroll Administration
  • 11102NAT Diploma of Payroll Management

Current industry knowledge, appropriate assessor credentials, strong written communication skills and the ability to meet deadlines are also required.
