TD Innovation Partners (TDIP) is a new full-service technology banking team providing bespoke, high-touch banking and financial services to address the unique challenges, opportunities and needs of technology entrepreneurs from ideation to IPO and beyond. This includes banking and lending products, principal investments and private banking solutions. 

The team collaborates with the most innovative technology and venture-backed companies across Canada from the earliest stages to those that are later stage and publicly traded, leveraging their industry knowledge and extensive deal structuring experience to offer a full suite of customized credit and cash management solutions to meet the complex needs of our clients.

Our TDIP Co-op/Intern Programming is offered with select Co-op and Internship roles and is designed to help you better understand the TDIP business, build on critical career capabilities, and broaden your professional network. This program is designed to complement your on-the job experience and features:

TDIP Winter Analysts have the unique opportunity to gain insight into a client-focused team and experience a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment where employees have the opportunity to make an immediate impact and are rewarded for performance.

Our Winter Analysts are exposed to credit transactions, principal investing, portfolio management and day-to-day relationship management by working closely with the TDIP team.

Our lean deal team structure will not only provide you with unparalleled hands-on experience, but it will also help you develop lasting personal and professional relationships with peers that will serve as the foundation for a successful career.

The TDIP Intern/Co-op will begin working on their day-to-day responsibilities, with one-on-one support from colleagues serving as both instructors and mentors throughout their engagement.

  • Assisting in monitoring and control activities of the portfolios, which include financial covenant tracking, internal bank tracking reports and ensuring the portfolios are managed against overall bank set targets

  • Assisting with the credit underwriting and due diligence process including the overall preparation of financial models and credit and investment applications

  • Assisting the TDIP team with growing the portfolio by structuring competitive financing packages while maintaining a balanced view on risk mitigants and credit quality

  • Engaging in client meetings with TDIP team to understand due diligence and make recommendations to internal and external decision makers

  • Assessing credit risk in compliance with applicable internal and external requirements (e.g. financial controls, risk policies) to increase profitability and enable business growth

  • Staying informed about market conditions and industry developments to contribute insights that enhance the bank's position in the technology sector

  • Working and collaborating in a team environment and ensuring client expectations are met/exceeded.

Job Requirements:

  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate degree in Finance, Accounting, Analytics, Data, Business/Commerce or related field.

  • Must be enrolled in an undergraduate degree with the intent of going back to school at the end of your work term.

  • Interested in making an impact in the Canadian innovation ecosystem.

  • Skilled communicator with excellent writing, speaking, and interpersonal abilities.

  • Can work collaboratively as part of team and independently.

  • Well-versed and efficient in using the Microsoft Office suite of products

Additional Details:

  • This position is a 4-month work term and will commence January 4th – April 23rd, 2027.
