Post-Onboarding RN Coach

1. Onboarding & Mentorship: * Guide new Registered Nurses through a structured onboarding program for their first 3–6 months. * Provide ongoing support, coaching, and mentorship to ensure new RNs feel confident and are successfully retained. * Act as a primary resource and role model for professional behavior, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement. 

2. Clinical Education & Skill Development: * Reinforce key clinical workflows, documentation standards, and escalation protocols to ensure consistency and quality. * Develop and deliver educational materials and training sessions focused on evidence-based practices for CKD/ESKD care. * Utilize a variety of coaching techniques, including simulation-based learning, case study analysis, teach-back methods, and direct observation, to build the clinical skillset of new RNs. * Coach RNs on developing strong clinical acumen, including root cause analysis, symptom identification, and creating patient-centered plans of care. 

3. Performance Evaluation & Quality Improvement: * Own and interpret clinical dashboards and performance reviews for new RNs. * Track key onboarding metrics including clinical foundations assessments, teammate readiness, retention, and time-to-proficiency. * Assess coaching progress and individual performance using tools such as the RN Scorecard. * Collaborate with Clinical Services Managers (CSMs) and the auditing team to identify learning gaps and create targeted development plans. 

4. Collaboration & Communication: * Partner closely with CSMs, Clinical Coaches, and other IKC leaders to ensure a seamless and supportive onboarding experience. * Foster open and effective communication between new RNs and their pod members, including NPs, Care Coordinators, and nephrologists. * Participate in interdisciplinary meetings to support comprehensive care coordination. 

Qualifications 

Education: * Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred. * Active, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in state of practice. 

Experience: * Minimum of 3-5 years of clinical experience as a Registered Nurse, with a strong background in managing patients with Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) and End-Stage Kidney Disease (ESKD). * Experience in a coaching, mentoring, precepting, or training capacity for clinical professionals is highly preferred. * Experience working in a collaborative, interdisciplinary team environment. 

Skills & Abilities: * Strong understanding of CKD/ESKD disease processes and the management of related co-morbidities. * Passion for teaching, mentoring, and helping others achieve their professional goals. * Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with teammates at all levels. * Experience with quality improvement initiatives and data-driven decision-making. * Ability to provide evidence-based recommendations and support clinical decision-making.

This position will be open for a minimum of three days.

The Salary Range for the role is $85,000.00 - $135,000.00 per year. If a candidate is hired, they will be paid at least the minimum wage according to their geographical jurisdiction and the exemption status for the position.New York Exempt: New York City and Long Island: $66,300.00/year, Nassau, Suffolk, and Westchester counties: $66,300.00/year, Remainder of New York state: $62,353.20/year New York Non-exempt: New York City and Long Island: $17.00/hour, Nassau, Suffolk, and Westchester counties: $17.00/hour, Remainder of New York state: $16.00/hourWashington Exempt: $80,168.40/year Washington Non-exempt: Bellingham: $19.13/hour, Burien: $21.71/hour, Everette: $20.77/hour, Unincorporated King County: $20.82/hour, Renton: $21.57/hour, Seattle: $21.30/hour, Tukwila: $21.65/hour, Remainder of Washington state: $17.13/hour
