Description

The Infrastructure Manager II is a mid-level IT professional responsible for the design, implementation, administration, and support of enterprise Windows infrastructure and security solutions. This role focuses on managing Windows server and endpoint environments, ensuring system reliability, performance, scalability, and security across the organization. The Infrastructure Manager II will lead infrastructure initiatives, troubleshoot complex technical issues, implement security best practices, and collaborate with cross-functional IT teams to support business objectives. This position also provides technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members.

Location - Work from Home (Support East Coast 6am - 3pm)

Salary starts at $122,000

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Windows Infrastructure Management

  • Design, implement, configure, and maintain enterprise Windows Server environments, including Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and file services.
  • Administer and support Windows endpoint management solutions, including Microsoft Intune, Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (SCCM/MECM), Windows Autopilot, and Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD).
  • Manage Windows operating system deployment, patch management, system upgrades, and lifecycle maintenance activities.
  • Configure, maintain, and optimize virtualization platforms including Hyper-V, VMware, and Microsoft Azure infrastructure services.
  • Monitor infrastructure performance, availability, and capacity to ensure optimal system operation and resource utilization.
  • Implement, support, and maintain enterprise storage, backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity solutions.

Windows Security & Compliance

  • Administer and maintain Windows security controls, including Group Policy security settings, Microsoft Defender for Endpoint, Microsoft Defender for Servers, BitLocker, and Windows Firewall.
  • Implement and enforce enterprise security standards, access controls, identity management, multifactor authentication (MFA), and encryption technologies.
  • Monitor security events and system vulnerabilities, coordinate remediation activities, and support cybersecurity initiatives.
  • Perform security hardening of Windows servers and workstations based on industry best practices and organizational standards.
  • Conduct regular security audits, risk assessments, and compliance reviews to ensure adherence to organizational policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Partner with cybersecurity teams during incident response investigations, remediation efforts, and vulnerability management activities.

Infrastructure Operations

  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex infrastructure, system, and Windows-related issues to minimize disruption and downtime.
  • Lead system migrations, infrastructure modernization projects, and deployment of new technologies.
  • Develop and maintain infrastructure documentation, system configurations, architecture diagrams, and operational procedures.
  • Collaborate with networking, security, application, and cloud teams to ensure seamless integration of infrastructure services.
  • Evaluate emerging Microsoft and infrastructure technologies and provide recommendations for improvements and operational efficiencies.
  • Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and training to junior team members and end users.

Professional Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience supporting enterprise Windows infrastructure, systems administration, or infrastructure engineering environments.
  • Experience managing enterprise Windows Server operating systems and Microsoft cloud technologies.

Technical Skills

  • Strong experience with:
    • Windows Server administration (2016, 2019, 2022, and newer)
    • Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and PKI
    • Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD) and Hybrid Identity environments
    • Microsoft Intune and Endpoint Management solutions
    • Microsoft Defender Security products
    • Windows patching and vulnerability remediation processes
  • Proficiency with PowerShell scripting and automation.
  • Experience with virtualization technologies such as VMware vSphere, Hyper-V, and Microsoft Azure.
  • Strong understanding of enterprise networking concepts including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, VPNs, routing, switching, and firewalls.
  • Experience with backup, recovery, storage systems, and disaster recovery planning.
  • Knowledge of security frameworks, best practices, and compliance standards.

  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate
  • Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate
