Description:

CTG is seeking to fill a Scheduling Migration Subject Matter Expert (SME) / Senior IMS Systems Programmer position for our client.

Location: Remote

Duration: Ongoing Contract

Duties:

  • Perform mainframe scheduling migrations to IBM Z Workload Scheduler.

  • Analyze and replace existing batch scheduling products and resolve migration issues.

  • Monitor workloads using ISPF and utilize Dynamic Workload Console as needed.

  • Investigate reports, identify root causes, and recommend corrective actions.

  • Develop and maintain technical documentation for migration activities.

  • Collaborate with internal employees, project managers, contractors, and client teams.

  • Support scheduling environments and provide technical troubleshooting and problem resolution.

  • IBM Z Workload Scheduler

  • z/OS, OS/390, TSO/ISPF

  • JCL

  • Mainframe batch scheduling and workload automation

  • CA/Broadcom scheduling tools, including CA-7, ESP, Jobtrac

  • BMC Control-M

  • ASG Zeke/Zebb

  • Dynamic Workload Console

  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills

  • REXX and Workload Automation Programming Language preferred

Experience:

  • 5+ years of mainframe experience with OS/390 or z/OS.

  • 5+ years of IBM Z Workload Scheduler experience.

  • Experience migrating mainframe scheduling products to IBM Z Workload Scheduler strongly preferred.

  • Strong TSO/ISPF editing and JCL experience.

  • Experience with other mainframe scheduling platforms such as CA-7, CA-ESP, and BMC Control-M.

  • Basic z/OS system programming knowledge is advantageous.

  • Open systems scheduling experience with Windows, UNIX, or Linux is a plus.

  • Project management or technical pre-sales experience is a plus.

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field preferred, or equivalent relevant experience.

Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required.

The expected base salary for this position ranges from $80.00 to $110.00/hour. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, market factors, and where applicable, licensure or certifications obtained. In addition to salary, a competitive benefit package is also offered.
