CTG is seeking to fill an Output/Infoprint/Mainframe Print Systems Engineer position for our client.
Location: Remote
Duration: Ongoing Contract
Duties:
Support and administer IBM Infoprint/Print Services Facility (IPS) and related mainframe print environments.
Provide expertise across all aspects of mainframe printing, including form creation, fonts, layouts, overlays, page definitions (PAGEDEFS), and form definitions (FORMDEFS).
Analyze current mainframe print products and environments, including ESF/VPS, to support migration planning and execution.
Support local and remote printing solutions, including print servers outside the mainframe environment.
Perform troubleshooting and system operations using SDSF and JES2.
Support z/OS product installation and configuration activities.
Work with networking, security, and mainframe infrastructure teams to resolve print and connectivity issues.
Develop and maintain REXX scripts and JCL as needed for print system operations.
Support USS, RACF, TCP/IP, VTAM, and other z/OS components related to print services.
Provide technical guidance for mainframe print modernization and migration initiatives.
Skills:
Very strong knowledge of IBM Infoprint/IPS and all related components.
Strong expertise in mainframe print formatting, including PAGEDEFS, FORMDEFS, overlays, fonts, forms, and layouts.
Strong knowledge of networking technologies, including TCP/IP and VTAM.
Strong knowledge of USS, REXX, SDSF, and JES2 system operations.
Working knowledge of z/OS, JCL, RACF, and z/OS product installation.
Knowledge of ESF/VPS and other current mainframe print products.
Strong understanding of local and remote printing and print server environments.
Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Experience:
Extensive experience supporting IBM mainframe print systems and Infoprint/IPS environments.
Experience with mainframe print migrations and legacy print product modernization.
Experience with z/OS systems administration, JES2, SDSF, USS, networking, and print infrastructure.
Experience supporting both mainframe-based and distributed/remote print servers.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field preferred, or equivalent technical experience.
Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required.

The expected base salary for this position ranges from $105.00 to $120.00/hour. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, market factors, and where applicable, licensure or certifications obtained. In addition to salary, a competitive benefit package is also offered.
