Hiring Priority: Active Hiring

The DCX Client Services - Home-Based Video Editor will work as a full-time employee for a growing business based in the United States. You will get a chance to learn new skills as well as demonstrate skills you've learned in the past. You will be responsible for closely following the instructions and processes outlined by our client.  

The daily tasks will vary, so it will be necessary to be very flexible in this position. Other necessary characteristics of the job include having a strong attention to detail,the ability to work well with co-workers, and a desire to learn new work skills.

REQUIRED CORE COMPETENCIES

  • Creative & Technical Proficiency – Demonstrates strong short-form video editing skills, creative judgment, and an understanding of social media trends, pacing, hooks, retention, captions, B-roll, and visual storytelling.

  • Exceptional Attention to Detail – Consistently produces polished, accurate, and client-ready work, with particular attention to captions, timing, audio, visual consistency, and brand standards.

  • Organization & Time Management – Highly organized and structured, able to manage high-volume workloads, prioritize multiple projects, maintain organized files, and consistently meet tight deadlines without sacrificing quality.

  • Communication & Ownership – Communicates clearly and proactively, responds well to feedback, works independently, and takes ownership of projects by making thoughtful creative decisions and suggesting improvements when appropriate.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

Short-Form Video Editing

  • Edit high-volume short-form social media content primarily for:

    • Instagram Reels

    • TikTok

    • YouTube Shorts

    • Similar short-form platforms

  • Take footage from raw files through to a polished, client-ready final video.

  • Work with a variety of source content, including:

    • Scripted/skit-based content

    • Testimonials

    • Podcasts

    • Long-form YouTube videos

    • Interviews

    • Events

    • Talking-head content

    • Client-specific footage and other media

Editing & Post-Production

  • Cut, organize, and assemble raw footage.

  • Identify the strongest clips, moments, and hooks when needed.

  • Remove dead space, filler words, ums/uhs, and unnecessary content.

  • Create strong pacing designed specifically for short-form social media retention.

  • Add, proofread, and correct captions.

  • Add B-roll, including:

    • Client-provided or internally shot footage

    • Stock footage when appropriate

  • Incorporate supporting creative elements when appropriate, including:

    • Music

    • Sound effects

    • Images

    • GIFs

    • Memes

    • Other visual elements

  • Create basic motion graphics and animations.

  • Use keyframing, punch-ins, speed ramping, and other modern editing techniques.

  • Perform audio cleanup and basic audio mixing.

  • Perform basic color correction and color grading.

  • Recreate the editing style of provided reference Reels, TikToks, and other examples.

  • Adapt editing styles and follow brand standards across multiple clients.

Creative Decision-Making

  • Follow edit briefs, scripts, shot lists, concepts, and reference videos.

  • Make independent creative decisions when appropriate.

  • Identify opportunities to improve:

    • Hooks

    • Pacing

    • Clip selection

    • Structure

    • Visual changes

    • Overall viewer retention

  • Proactively suggest improvements rather than simply following instructions.

  • Develop a strong understanding of modern short-form social media editing and retention strategies.

Revisions & Collaboration

  • Implement revisions from the internal team and clients.

  • Communicate clearly regarding questions, challenges, and project needs.

  • Take feedback professionally and apply it accurately.

  • Work independently while maintaining alignment with project expectations and brand standards.

File & Project Management

  • Maintain organized project files, assets, raw footage, and final exports.

  • Follow SLF Media's internal file organization and naming structures.

  • Ensure projects are properly organized and easy for other team members to access when needed.

Production Volume & Turnaround

  • Comfortably complete approximately 6–7 short-form videos during a full editing day, depending on complexity.

  • Handle monthly production volumes that may exceed 200 videos during busy periods.

  • Typically work within 1–2 week turnaround windows for batches.

  • Be comfortable handling occasional rush projects requiring completion within 1–2 days.

  • Work quickly without sacrificing quality or attention to detail.

Ownership

  • Ultimately take full ownership of the post-production process.

  • Be able to receive client footage and independently turn it into polished, client-ready content with minimal oversight.

  • Demonstrate reliability, accountability, creativity, attention to detail, and strong time management.

WHAT WE LOOK FOR

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts, Multimedia Arts, or a related field.

  • Experience: At least 2 years of experience in Video Editing, Content Creation, and Marketing

  • Language Proficiency: Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.

  • Schedule: Ability to work in alignment with US business hours.

  • Technical Skills: Strong understanding of modern short-form social media editing. Demonstrated ability to create engaging content designed for viewer retention.

  • Strong understanding of:

    • Hooks and the importance of the first few seconds

    • Pacing

    • Pattern interrupts

    • Visual changes

    • Captions

    • B-roll

    • Sound design

    • Short-form storytelling

Caption Accuracy

  • Exceptional attention to caption accuracy is required.

  • Automated captions must always be reviewed, proofread, and corrected.

  • Captions should be accurate, properly timed, and visually consistent with the video.

Primary editing software:

  • CapCut Desktop

  • Adobe Premiere Pro

Required workflow/software familiarity:

  • Dropbox

  • Google Drive

WHAT WE OFFER

  • Salary Range: Php 55,000 - Php 60,000
