Job description

The Kardex Group is one of the world's leading manufacturers of dynamic storage, retrieval and distribution systems. As a Data Steward, you will play a key role in ensuring high-quality master data, supporting data governance initiatives, and driving data excellence across our global organization. You will collaborate with international stakeholders, business teams, and IT experts to enhance data quality, compliance, and transparency while contributing to the continuous improvement of our data management processes.

We are looking for a colleague to join our team in hybrid mode in the Lisbon area or fully remote within Portugal.

Your tasks

  • You ensure the quality, consistency, and integrity of our master data.

  • You maintain, manage, and continuously improve master data and related metadata.

  • You analyze data quality issues and drive sustainable improvement initiatives.

  • You document data flows, transformations, and business processes across the entire data lifecycle.

  • You support the implementation and enforcement of data governance, compliance, and security standards.

  • You collaborate closely with business departments, IT teams, data owners, and international stakeholders.

  • You support ETL processes, data migrations, and validation activities within the SAP environment.

  • You manage data-related incidents, drive process improvements, and promote a data-driven culture across the organization.

Your profile

  • You have successfully completed a degree in Computer Science, Business Informatics, Data Management, or a comparable qualification.

  • You bring 3 to 5 years of professional experience in Data Management, Data Governance, or Data Quality.

  • You have strong knowledge of SQL, data modeling, data integration, and ideally SAP MDG.

  • You are familiar with master data management, data quality, and data governance processes.

  • You ideally have experience with Python and process automation.

  • You have a solid understanding of data privacy, compliance, and GDPR requirements.

  • You communicate confidently in English (minimum B2 level) and enjoy working with international teams.

  • You are willing to travel occasionally and take ownership in a global environment.
