Job description

Job Description:

Why join us

Get ready to Own a new business opportunity as Business Development Lead Cultivated Protein Feed at Nutreco, an SHV company. Cell-cultured protein is a developing industry, and creating cost-efficient, scalable cell feed solutions means working without an established blueprint.

You'll play a key role in developing and growing Nutreco's cell feed business, helping cell-cultured meat and seafood companies bring innovative protein solutions closer to commercial reality. Working at the intersection of business development, innovation and commercial implementation, you'll connect customer needs with technical, operational and commercial possibilities in a fast-evolving market.

Own your ideas. Own your impact. Own your future.

What you’ll do

You’ll lead the commercial development and implementation of the Cultivated Protein feed business. The target market consists mainly of emerging cell-cultured meat and seafood companies, including start-ups, so you’ll need to respond to changing customer needs, volumes and quality expectations in a practical and commercially sound way. You will:

  • Lead and coordinate cross-functional projects and workstreams within the cell feed program, including its implementation within Nutreco and the evaluation of commercial production options.

  • Drive business development and customer acquisition, building relationships with companies operating in cell-cultured meat, seafood and related markets.

  • Develop and regularly update business cases, including operational cost models, product pricing, budgets and business planning.

  • Coordinate production cost analyses and help translate technical and operational possibilities into commercially viable propositions.

  • Support negotiations relating to sales and purchase agreements, customer collaborations, partnerships and potential market-scaling initiatives.

  • Contribute to adjacent areas such as procurement and marketing where this supports the growth of the program.

Who we’re looking for

We’re looking for someone who is ready to take ownership of a developing business area rather than stepping into an established commercial model. You’ll bring:

  • A Master’s degree in Business Administration or a related field.

  • Experience in business development, sales, marketing, project management or a related commercial function, such as strategic procurement.

  • The ability to develop business cases, operational cost models, pricing analyses and budgets.

  • Strong customer-facing, communication and project management skills, including experience with commercial agreements and preferably negotiations.

  • An entrepreneurial, hands-on approach and the ability to organise and motivate stakeholders across a complex international organisation.

  • Experience in cultivated protein or cell culture media would be valuable, but it is not essential. An existing internal Nutreco network would also be a plus.

What you’ll receive

As part of Nutreco, you’ll be part of the wider SHV family, a diverse international group of companies with a long-term perspective. You’ll have access to a broad network of expertise, development opportunities and potential career paths across Nutreco and SHV. You’ll also receive:

  • A competitive remuneration package and pension scheme.

  • 30 vacation days, with the option to purchase or sell a limited number of days.

  • A hybrid and flexible working environment, including the option to work from home two days per week.

  • Unlimited access to LinkedIn Learning and support for your personal and professional development.

  • An informal, international working environment with colleagues across different functions and areas of expertise.

  • A full-time position based in Amersfoort, with regular travel to the pilot production facility in Boxmeer.

How and why to find out more

This is an opportunity to help build a business in a market where the solutions, customer needs and commercial models are still developing. You’ll have room to shape the direction, bring together technical and commercial expertise, and turn an innovative concept into a scalable proposition.

If you’re interested in owning that challenge, we’d like to hear from you. Apply now and get ready to Own your ideas. Own your impact. Own your future.
