Electric Vehicles (EVs)

At Slate, we’ve got one job: building a vehicle you’ll fall in love with, right here in the USA. We believe that car buyers—not car companies—should call the shots. We like looking at a road, not a screen. We don’t like paying for stuff we don’t need.We like picking out the stuff we do need. We think dings are badges, not blemishes. But we know not everyone likes what we like. So, we built you a Slate: you make it yours.

Job description

ABOUT SLATE

At Slate, we’re building safe, reliable vehicles that people can afford, personalize and love—and doing it here in the USA as part of our commitment to reindustrialization. The spirit of DIY and customization runs throughout every element of a Slate, because people should have control over how their trucks look, feel, and represent them.

| WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We’re seeking a Head of Wrap Install Field Operations to build and lead Slate’s national wrap installation network. This leader will be responsible for developing the operational model, standards, talent strategy, training systems, and performance culture for a multi-site field operation that delivers a world-class customer experience.

This role will establish and scale wrap installation operations across at least six regional centers throughout the United States, ensuring consistent execution, safety, quality, throughput, and customer satisfaction. You will leverage deep field installation expertise, operational leadership, and Lean principles to create a network capable of supporting Slate’s rapid growth.

This role is ideal for a hands-on field operations leader who has successfully scaled geographically distributed operations, built high-performing installation teams, and implemented Lean operating systems in fast-paced environments

| WHAT YOU GET TO DO

  • Build and launch Slate's national wrap installation network, establishing operational capabilities, leveraging best in class competencies from partners, across multiple regional centers throughout the United States.

  • Develop the field operating model, including staffing plans, partner capabilities, capacity models, standard work, quality systems, escalation processes, and performance management routines.

  • Create and implement Lean operating systems that drive safety, quality, productivity, customer satisfaction, and continuous improvement across all locations.

  • Design and deploy standardized training and certification programs for installers, team leads, and site leadership.

  • Establish workforce development strategies that enable apprentice-to-expert career progression while supporting rapid scaling of the installer workforce.

  • Drive operational excellence through daily management practices, KPI reviews, root-cause problem solving, and continuous improvement events.

  • Partner with Supply Chain, Logistics, Product Development, Customer Experience, and Quality teams to ensure seamless execution of wrap installations and field feedback loops.

  • Develop network capacity plans that support vehicle volume growth while maintaining service-level commitments and operational efficiency.

  • Create mechanisms for operational visibility and accountability, including performance dashboards, site audits, and standardized reporting.

  • Lead regional operations leaders and site management teams, building a culture of safety, ownership, teamwork, and customer obsession.

  • Standardize quality systems to ensure consistent installation quality and first-pass yield across all regional centers.

  • Travel regularly to field locations to support launches, coach teams, conduct operational reviews, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

| WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TEAM

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations, Business, Supply Chain, or related field; advanced degree or Lean certification a plus.

  • 12+ years of experience in field operations, manufacturing operations, service operations, aftermarket installations, or related operational leadership roles.

  • Significant hands-on experience in vehicle wraps, automotive customization, graphics installation, aftermarket accessories, or comparable installation environments.

  • Proven experience scaling multi-site operations and leading geographically distributed teams.

  • Deep knowledge of Lean principles, standard work, visual management, flow, capacity planning, and continuous improvement methodologies.

  • Demonstrated success building operational systems, training programs, and performance management processes from the ground up.

  • Experience leading large frontline workforces and developing future leaders.

  • Strong analytical capabilities with experience managing operational KPIs, productivity metrics, quality measures, and financial performance.

  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills.

  • Willingness and ability to travel extensively to support field operations and new site launches.

  • Automotive, aftermarket, retail services, logistics, or field-services leadership experience.

  • Experience with network design, capacity modeling, and regional operations management.
