Functional Tester - Washington, DC (Remote)

Seeking for a Functional Tester to support Pega-based modernization initiatives. The role involves developing and executing comprehensive test plans, test cases, test scripts, procedures, and test data to ensure applications meet business, functional, technical, and accessibility requirements.

Responsibilities:

• Develop, maintain, and execute test plans, procedures, cases, scripts, and data based on business and functional requirements.
• Perform functional, unit, system, end-to-end, integration, performance, regression, security, and accessibility testing.
• Support testing activities for Pega-based modernization applications and business processes.
• Validate application functionality against documented business requirements, specifications, and acceptance criteria.
• Identify, document, and track application defects, anomalies, and testing issues.
• Provide clear defect documentation, including reproduction steps, expected versus actual results, test data, and supporting evidence.
• Perform defect retesting and regression testing after fixes are implemented.
• Use Jira to support defect tracking, test activities, issue management, and testing workflows.
• Use Confluence to maintain testing documentation, procedures, artifacts, and project knowledge.
• Maintain traceability between business requirements, test cases, test results, and identified defects.
• Perform Section 508 and WCAG accessibility testing to validate applications against applicable accessibility standards.
• Support system, integration, and end-to-end testing across interconnected applications and business processes.
• Document test execution results and communicate testing status, defects, risks, and outstanding issues to project stakeholders.
• Maintain required testing artifacts according to established project standards and procedures.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
• At least 1 year of relevant software testing or quality assurance experience.
• Hands-on experience with functional and manual software testing.
• Experience with test case creation, management, and execution.
• Experience developing and executing test scenarios, test scripts, and test data.
• Experience with Jira for defect tracking and testing activities.
• Working knowledge of Confluence for test documentation and collaboration.
• Experience identifying, documenting, tracking, and retesting software defects.
• Understanding of system, integration, end-to-end, and regression testing.
• Ability to validate software applications against business and functional requirements.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with technical and business stakeholders.
