Job description

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Recruiter to join a large-scale Recruitment Process Outsourcing (RPO) program supporting a major organization within the Australian resources sector.

Based in Perth, Western Australia, this is a highly visible, hands-on recruitment role responsible for managing end-to-end recruitment across a portfolio of specialist, technical, engineering, operational, project, and corporate positions.

The successful candidate will bring strong recruitment experience within mining, resources, energy, engineering, construction, infrastructure, or other heavy industries, along with a solid understanding of the Australian talent market.

We are looking for someone who is comfortable operating within a large and complex organization, partnering directly with hiring managers and senior stakeholders, proactively sourcing difficult-to-find talent, and managing recruitment processes from intake through offer and onboarding.

Previous experience working within an RPO environment or an in-house Talent Acquisition function within the mining/resources sector would be highly valued.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the full recruitment lifecycle across an assigned portfolio of vacancies, from intake and sourcing through screening, interview coordination, offer management, and successful placement.
  • Partner with hiring managers to understand role requirements, technical capabilities, team environments, and business priorities.
  • Develop tailored recruitment strategies for each vacancy based on talent availability, location, skill requirements, and market conditions.
  • Manage multiple vacancies simultaneously while maintaining quality, responsiveness, and an excellent candidate experience.
  • Maintain accurate and timely recruitment activity and candidate information within the ATS.
  • Proactively identify risks or challenges that may impact recruitment delivery and recommend appropriate solutions.
  • Take a proactive, direct-sourcing-led approach to identifying and engaging talent.
  • Apply strong knowledge of recruitment within mining, resources, energy, engineering, construction, infrastructure, or related heavy industries.
  • Build strong, consultative relationships with hiring managers, HR teams, Talent Acquisition stakeholders, and business leaders.

About You

You are a strong, hands-on recruiter who understands how to find and engage difficult-to-reach talent rather than relying primarily on job advertisements or inbound applications.

You understand the Australian resources talent market and can confidently engage with engineers, technical specialists, project professionals, operational talent, and senior candidates.

You are comfortable working in a fast-paced RPO environment where delivery, sourcing activity, stakeholder management, candidate quality, and responsiveness are all critical to success.

You also have the confidence to advise hiring managers when market conditions, compensation, location, or candidate requirements are affecting recruitment outcomes.

Required Experience

  • Significant experience in end-to-end recruitment or Talent Acquisition, ideally at Senior Recruiter level.
  • Demonstrated recruitment experience within mining, resources, energy, engineering, construction, infrastructure, industrial, or other relevant heavy-industry environments.
  • Strong knowledge of the Australian recruitment market, ideally with direct experience recruiting within Western Australia.
  • Previous experience in either:
    • an RPO or recruitment outsourcing environment, or
    • an in-house Talent Acquisition function within a large mining, resources, engineering, or industrial organization.
  • Strong experience recruiting technical, engineering, project, operational, or specialist positions.
  • Demonstrated success with direct sourcing and passive candidate engagement.
  • Strong LinkedIn Recruiter and talent mapping capabilities.
  • Experience managing multiple vacancies and hiring managers simultaneously.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Experience working with ATS and recruitment reporting systems.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a broader RPO team.

Highly Desirable

  • Previous recruitment experience within a major Australian mining or resources organization.
  • Established networks within the Western Australian mining, resources, engineering, or energy talent market.
  • Experience recruiting across disciplines such as engineering, projects, operations, maintenance, technical services, supply chain, HSE, or corporate functions.
  • Experience working within a large-scale or enterprise RPO program.
  • Exposure to both high-volume and specialist/technical recruitment.
  • Experience conducting talent mapping and providing market intelligence to hiring managers.
  • Strong understanding of recruitment KPIs, SLAs, and RPO delivery expectations.

What Success Looks Like

The successful Senior Recruiter will quickly develop a strong understanding of the client's business, hiring priorities, and talent requirements while establishing trusted relationships with hiring managers and candidates.

You will consistently build strong candidate pipelines through proactive direct sourcing, provide meaningful market intelligence to stakeholders, and maintain momentum across your recruitment portfolio.

Most importantly, you will bring genuine knowledge of the Australian mining, resources, engineering, and heavy-industry talent market and use that experience to deliver high-quality recruitment outcomes in a complex and fast-moving environment.
