Job description

Format: Full-time or part-time is also under consideration; remote; working based on Australian hours
Duration: 12-month fixed-term contract, with possibility of extension
Category: Premium/lifestyle beverage brand

We’re looking for a Social Media & Community Manager to lead always-on social and community management for a well-known Australian lifestyle beverage brand that requires someone who understands Australian tone: warm, witty, familiar, relaxed, social-first, and never forced.

This role sits across social publishing, community management, social listening, content calendar management, campaign support, copywriting, creative localisation, CRM/email support, and monthly reporting.

The brand already has strong creative and local nuance support through its Sydney-based brand team and studio, so this person does not need to be the full creative authority. But they do need strong enough tone, judgement, and brand instinct to manage day-to-day community responses without needing every comment approved.

About the Role

Social & community management

  • Manage day-to-day community engagement across owned social channels, including Facebook, Instagram, and other relevant platforms.
  • Monitor and respond to comments, messages, and community interactions in the brand’s tone of voice.
  • Moderate conversations and escalate customer, brand, or reputation issues when needed, delicately balancing engagement, non-responsiveness, and escalations.
  • Conduct social listening, sentiment monitoring, and identify opportunities across competitor, retailer, influencer, and partner communities.

Content, copywriting & publishing

  • Manage the editorial calendar, social publishing workflow, and platform scheduling.
  • Write engaging social copy across platforms, including paid social copy where required.
  • Localise and project-manage global, regional, or studio-led creative assets by coordinating approvals and ensuring content goes live correctly and on time.
  • Maintain channel hygiene, including profile updates, links, platform settings, and publishing approvals.

Social-first ideas, CRM & reporting

  • Identify emerging social, cultural, platform, and consumer trends to help the brand stay relevant at the beat of social.
  • Generate always-on content ideas, reactive content opportunities, and social-first concepts and contribute to annual content strategy over time.
  • Support campaign, influencer, CRM, EDM/newsletter, and activation moments by collaborating with cross-functional teams.
  • Provide monthly social reporting, recommendations, and performance optimisation to provide strategic insigths on what is working, what is not, and where the brand can sharpen performance.

About You

  • You have 3–5+ years’ experience in social media and community management, digital marketing, content, or brand communications.
  • You have managed branded social channels for consumer, FMCG, beverage, lifestyle, or culture-led brands.
  • You have excellent English copywriting skills and understand Australian social tone, humour, restraint, timing, and cultural cues.
  • You are confident managing communities, conversations, comments, and escalations without regular approvals.
  • You can work with an in-house creative studio without relying on them for every caption or comment.
  • You understand Facebook, Instagram, Reels, Stories, and evolving social platforms.
  • You can manage content calendars, approvals, publishing workflows, and reporting independently.
  • Experience with influencer campaigns, paid social, EDM/email marketing, Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or social listening tools would be a strong advantage.
