We are sharing a specialised part-time consulting opportunity for experienced finance, accounting, and business operations professionals with strong analytical skills and practical experience reviewing financial and operational work products.

This role focuses on assessing finance and business operations documents, spreadsheets, and presentations for quality, accuracy, relevance, and professional soundness. Selected professionals will review financial analyses, accounting materials, operational plans, and related business documents while providing clear, structured feedback.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Analysis

  • Review financial analyses, reports, and supporting work products for accuracy and completeness
  • Assess calculations, assumptions, financial logic, and supporting data
  • Identify inconsistencies, unsupported conclusions, or analytical gaps
  • Evaluate whether financial findings are appropriately supported by underlying information
  • Apply practical judgement grounded in real-world finance experience

Accounting Review

  • Evaluate accounting-related documents, schedules, and supporting materials
  • Review calculations, reconciliations, classifications, and financial information for consistency
  • Identify errors, omissions, or internal inconsistencies
  • Assess whether accounting outputs are clearly presented and professionally structured
  • Review supporting documentation for completeness and relevance

Business Operations

  • Evaluate operational plans, workflows, analyses, and recommendations
  • Assess whether proposed approaches are practical and logically supported
  • Review business processes, resource considerations, and execution assumptions
  • Identify operational gaps, inefficiencies, or inconsistencies
  • Evaluate recommendations for feasibility and business relevance

Spreadsheet & Data Review

  • Review financial and operational spreadsheets for accuracy and internal consistency
  • Assess formulas, calculations, tables, assumptions, and supporting data
  • Identify broken logic, calculation errors, or inconsistencies across worksheets
  • Evaluate whether spreadsheet outputs support stated conclusions
  • Review quantitative information for clarity and decision usefulness

Business Reporting

  • Assess management reports, business summaries, and analytical materials
  • Review performance metrics, financial indicators, and operational findings
  • Evaluate whether conclusions are clearly supported by the underlying analysis
  • Identify gaps between source data and reported outcomes
  • Assess reporting quality, structure, and professional usefulness

Document & Presentation Review

  • Review Word documents, PowerPoint presentations, and related business materials
  • Assess clarity, accuracy, organisation, and overall professional quality
  • Identify inconsistencies between financial analysis and presented conclusions
  • Evaluate tables, charts, summaries, and supporting narratives
  • Ensure information is communicated consistently across different formats

Structured Evaluation & Feedback

  • Assess finance and business operations work products against defined quality standards
  • Identify substantive financial, analytical, operational, and presentation issues
  • Distinguish material concerns from minor editorial issues
  • Provide clear, concise, and actionable written feedback
  • Apply evaluation criteria consistently across assignments

Ideal Profile

  • Bachelor's degree or higher
  • At least 2+ years of relevant professional experience in finance, accounting, business operations, financial analysis, operations analysis, or a closely related field
  • Experience as a Financial Analyst, Finance Analyst, Business Analyst, Operations Analyst, Accounting Analyst, or similar professional
  • Strong understanding of financial analysis, accounting, and/or business operations
  • Strong analytical and document-review skills
  • High attention to detail and ability to follow structured guidelines
  • Strong written communication skills
  • Strong proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
  • Comfortable reviewing quantitative and business-oriented work products
  • Able to work independently and provide precise professional feedback

Engagement Details

  • Part-time independent contractor engagement
  • Fully remote
  • Applicants must be based in the United States, Europe, United Kingdom, or Canada
  • Compensation: $70–$150/hour
  • Flexible scheduling based on project requirements
  • Work focuses on finance, accounting, business operations, document review, and structured evaluation
  • Projects may be extended, shortened, or concluded based on project needs and performance
  • Work must be completed without using confidential or proprietary information belonging to any employer, client, institution, or other third party
