Job description

We are sharing a specialised part-time consulting opportunity for experienced professionals with backgrounds in analytics, research, business intelligence, market insights, or related analytical functions.

This role focuses on reviewing and evaluating analytical documents, research materials, spreadsheets, presentations, and professional work products for quality, accuracy, relevance, and sound reasoning. Selected professionals will assess data-driven conclusions, research findings, reports, and supporting materials while providing clear, structured feedback.

Key Responsibilities

Research & Analysis

  • Review research materials, analytical reports, and supporting documentation for accuracy and completeness
  • Assess whether findings are logically supported by available information
  • Evaluate assumptions, methodologies, comparisons, and conclusions
  • Identify gaps, inconsistencies, or unsupported claims
  • Apply professional judgement grounded in real-world analytical or research experience

Business Intelligence

  • Evaluate business intelligence reports, dashboards, and analytical work products
  • Review performance indicators, trends, metrics, and supporting data
  • Assess whether insights are clearly derived from underlying information
  • Identify inconsistencies between data and reported conclusions
  • Evaluate materials for practical business relevance and decision usefulness

Market & Customer Insights

  • Review research involving markets, customers, competitors, or business trends
  • Assess whether conclusions appropriately reflect supporting evidence
  • Evaluate segmentation, comparisons, findings, and recommendations
  • Identify weak assumptions or incomplete analysis
  • Review insights for clarity, relevance, and professional quality

Data Interpretation

  • Assess quantitative and qualitative information across varied assignments
  • Evaluate whether data has been interpreted accurately and appropriately
  • Identify analytical errors, misleading comparisons, or unsupported conclusions
  • Review the relationship between source information and final recommendations
  • Apply structured analytical reasoning to unfamiliar topics

Spreadsheet Review

  • Review Excel spreadsheets for accuracy, completeness, and consistency
  • Assess calculations, tables, formulas, assumptions, and supporting data
  • Identify missing information, calculation issues, or inconsistencies
  • Evaluate whether spreadsheet outputs support stated findings
  • Maintain strong attention to detail across quantitative work products

Document & Presentation Review

  • Review Word documents and PowerPoint presentations for clarity, accuracy, and professional quality
  • Assess analytical narratives, research findings, charts, and supporting information
  • Identify inconsistencies between underlying data and presented conclusions
  • Evaluate whether complex findings are communicated effectively
  • Review materials against defined project guidelines

Structured Evaluation & Feedback

  • Assess assigned work products against defined quality standards
  • Identify substantive analytical, research, data, and presentation issues
  • Distinguish material concerns from minor editorial issues
  • Provide clear, concise, and actionable written feedback
  • Apply evaluation criteria consistently across assignments

Ideal Profile

  • Bachelor's degree or higher
  • At least 2+ years of relevant professional experience in analytics, research, business intelligence, market research, insights, or a closely related field
  • Experience as a Data Analyst, Business Analyst, Research Analyst, Market Research Analyst, Insights Analyst, or similar professional
  • Strong analytical and research skills
  • Strong ability to interpret quantitative and qualitative information
  • Strong document-analysis and review capabilities
  • Strong written communication skills
  • High attention to detail and ability to follow structured guidelines
  • Strong proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
  • Comfortable reviewing varied analytical and research work products
  • Able to work independently and provide precise professional feedback

Engagement Details

  • Part-time independent contractor engagement
  • Fully remote
  • Applicants must be based in the United States, Europe, United Kingdom, or Canada
  • Compensation: $70–$150/hour
  • Flexible scheduling based on project requirements
  • Work focuses on research, business intelligence, data analysis, document review, and structured evaluation
  • Projects may be extended, shortened, or concluded based on project needs and performance
  • Work must be completed without using confidential or proprietary information belonging to any employer, client, institution, or other third party
