Job description

Why Mozilla?

Mozilla Corporation is the non-profit-backed technology company that has shaped the internet for the better over the last 25 years. We make pioneering brands like Firefox, the privacy-minded web browser. Now, with more than 225 million people around the world using our products each month, we’re shaping the next 25 years of technology and helping to reclaim an internet built for people, not companies. Our work focuses on diverse areas including AI, social media, security and more. And we’re doing this while never losing our focus on our core mission – to make the internet better for people.

The Mozilla Corporation is wholly owned by the non-profit 501(c) Mozilla Foundation. This means we aren’t beholden to any shareholders — only to our mission. Along with thousands of volunteer contributors and collaborators all over the world, Mozillians design, build and distribute open-source software that enables people to enjoy the internet on their terms.

About this team and role:

Search is the most essential functionality in any browser, and it’s evolving daily with new interaction paradigms, AI-powered answers, and agentic browsing. The Firefox Desktop Search team owns one of Mozilla’s most critical product areas, delivering high-quality, privacy-respecting search experiences that help solve key user problems, differentiate Firefox, and drive long-term business value.

This role will help shape Firefox’s strategy in an era where AI is redefining how people search, learn, and get things done online.

As a Staff Product Manager, you will define and drive the strategy and execution for search within the Firefox Desktop browser across Windows, macOS, and Linux. You will help determine how Firefox integrates traditional web search with emerging AI capabilities while upholding Mozilla’s leadership in privacy and user agency. You will operate at the intersection of product experience, revenue growth, and partner strategy to ensure Firefox delivers differentiated, future-facing search experiences.

What you’ll do:

  • Define and drive the product strategy and roadmap for search features in the Firefox Desktop browser, driving search engagement and revenue.
  • Lead end-to-end experimentation across browser search access points, default search experiences, and search suggestions.
  • Define clear success metrics in partnership with Data Science, and translate insights into actionable decisions.
  • Partner with Business Development to support search partnerships and ensure product execution aligns with contractual and strategic commitments.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Research, and Design to prototype and ship innovative search experiences.
  • Navigate complex trade-offs between user experience, privacy principles, technical constraints, and revenue outcomes in a rapidly shifting search landscape.
  • Contribute to quarterly and annual planning, identifying risks, opportunities, and long-term strategic initiatives.

What you’ll bring:

  • 5+ years of product management experience, including ownership of revenue-impacting and user-facing product areas.
  • Experience working on search, discovery, AI/ML-powered products, or adjacent domains.
  • Strong understanding of modern AI capabilities and their product implications.
  • Proven experience leading experimentation programs and driving measurable business outcomes.
  • Strong analytical skills and fluency with product analytics tools and SQL.
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams and influencing without direct authority.
  • Demonstrated ability to balance user needs, privacy considerations, and business objectives.
  • Excellent communication skills and comfort engaging with senior stakeholders.

What you’ll get:

  • Generous performance-based bonus plans to all eligible employees - we share in our success as one team
  • Rich medical, dental, and vision coverage
  • Generous retirement contributions with 100% immediate vesting (regardless of whether you contribute)
  • Quarterly all-company wellness days where everyone takes a pause together
  • Country specific holidays plus a day off for your birthday
  • One-time home office stipend
  • Annual professional development budget
  • Quarterly well-being stipend
  • Considerable paid parental leave
  • Employee referral bonus program
  • Other benefits (life/AD&D, disability, EAP, etc. - varies by country)
