Artemis is seeking a full-time Web/Digital Social Media Director to lead the digital and social media component of CBP’s Trusted Traveler Program (TTP) marketing support services. This individual will be responsible for directing social media content and graphic design, website and digital communication mock-ups, and the digital/social elements of the program’s Strategic Communications Plan and Media Buy Plan. This role drives execution across social platforms, ensures brand-consistent messaging to domestic and international audiences, and applies web, content management system (CMS), and paid digital advertising expertise to support program-wide reach and engagement goals.

The Web/Digital Social Media Director role requires a self-starter, proactive problem solver and action-oriented team player with previous experience in digital marketing, web management, and social media strategy. This position needs an individual that is committed to providing superior service, poised under pressure and has a positive and flexible attitude.

This is a contingent hire position.

Remote work is anticipated. However, occasional travel for client engagements may be required.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Lead the development, execution, and daily management of social media content and graphics across TTP channels (including Instagram, X/Twitter, and YouTube).
  • Direct the creation of UX and graphic design mock-ups for website updates, SMS messaging, email communications, and mobile application features supporting the program’s digital properties.
  • Oversee the digital and social media components of the Strategic Communications Plan and Media Buy Plan, ensuring alignment with program KPIs such as engagement rate, sentiment analysis, conversion rate, and acquisition rate.
  • Manage paid digital and social advertising campaigns, applying technical knowledge of social media platforms and CMS to optimize performance and reach.
  • Partner with the Account Director and Director of Strategic Planning/Media to integrate digital and social strategy into the program’s overall media planning, buying, and creative development efforts.
  • Support outreach events, tradeshows, and conferences with digital and social media content, and contribute digital performance metrics to After-Conference and After-Campaign Reports.
  • Ensure web-based and electronic content deliverables conform to Section 508 accessibility standards, including WCAG 2.0 Level A and AA success criteria.
  • Coordinate with contractor and CBP stakeholders on reporting of digital/social performance measures, identifying and recommending optimizations when KPIs are not met.
  • Support translation and localization needs for digital and social content to reach international Trusted Traveler audiences and Foreign Partner countries.
  • Maintain compliance with DHS and CBP marketing, branding, and communications strategies across all digital and social deliverables.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in digital marketing, web management, or social media.
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field.
  • Technical knowledge of social media platforms, CMS, and experience executing paid digital advertising campaigns.
  • Experience developing UX and graphic design mock-ups for websites, email, and SMS communications.
  • Familiarity with Section 508/WCAG 2.0 Level A and AA accessibility standards for web-based and electronic content.
  • Strategic thinker with a forward-looking approach to marketing trends and technologies.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically.
  • Ability to manage competing deadlines.
  • Experience supporting complex projects and transformation efforts within the federal government.
  • Comfortability with supporting complex client relationships.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a public trust clearance.
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S.
Desired Qualifications:
  • Strong critical thinking, analytical and time management skills.
  • Proven ability to organize, prioritize, and work well with others.
  • Ability to communicate thoughts, ideas, and solutions logically both written and orally.
  • Ability to stay calm under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to receive feedback from clients and implement changes quickly and effectively.
  • Ability to get up to speed quickly on complex issues.
