Position : AI-Native Software Engineer
Location : Bay Area, CA (Remote is fine)
Rate : $55/hr on W2
- You have proven experience serving as a software engineer for web application
- projects, hosted On-Premise and Cloud, supporting a large customer base.
- You treat performance as a design constraint, not a tuning pass after the fact.
- You know when to build and when to buy — you can justify choosing a custom-built solution over
- an off-the-shelf or cloud-native service.
- You think in systems and evaluate designs critically — whether reviewing AI-generated code or
- your own architecture — catching the subtle bug, security gap, or design choice that won't hold
- up under load or misuse.
- You use spec-driven development with AI as your default way of engineering software.
- You pick up new tools and approaches quickly, since the effective way to work with AI changes
- often, and you'd rather adapt early than fall behind.
- You are decisive without being divisive — you can analytically weigh trade-offs, balance
- competing priorities, and drive decisions that span organizational boundaries.
- You have excellent communication and organization skills.
Minimum Qualifications
- BS or MS degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field, or
- demonstrated equivalent experience.
- Demonstrated fluency in leveraging AI technologies across the entire software development
- lifecycle, including breaking down user stories into actionable tasks, AI-assisted coding and
- testing, automated defect resolution, and deployment of fully tested software.
- Server-side software development experience with Python, Java, NodeJS, and/or other similar
- technologies; client-side web application development experience using React, Backbone, native
- JavaScript, and/or other comparable technologies.
- Expertise in building secure, large-scale systems using fault-tolerant technologies (such as
- Elasticsearch, CockroachDB, Oracle, MongoDB & Kafka); experience with building and deploying with
- cloud-native technologies.
- CISSP/CCSP or similar certification useful.
