We have a backlog of pre-employment clearances waiting and not enough Arizona-licensed providers to sign them. This is steady, repeatable, remote clinical work, paid per completed clearance, scheduled in advance so you can plan your week.

At a typical pace of roughly five completed clearances an hour, $25 per clearance works out to about $130 per hour. No call rotation. No commute. No clinic to staff. We cover the malpractice insurance.

We are onboarding now and interviewing on a rolling basis. A licensed, credentialed candidate can go from application to first block quickly.

The volume

This is the part most telemedicine side work gets wrong: there isn't enough of it to be worth the setup. That is not the situation here.

• We currently run clearances in California, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Illinois, and we are opening Arizona because employer demand is already there.
• Clearance requests arrive continuously from employers onboarding new hires — this is hiring-driven volume, not seasonal campaign work.
• We currently have more clearance volume than our Arizona capacity can absorb, which is why this posting exists.
• Volume is scheduled in advance in blocks you choose, so you know what you are earning before the week starts.
• Reviews are batched. You are not logging in for one encounter and logging out — a block is several clearances back to back, which is what makes the per-clearance rate work.

If you want more, there is more. Providers who want to hold steady weekly hours can; so can providers who only want the occasional evening block.

ClearToStart is our pre-employment clinical clearance platform. Employers send us a new hire; we retrieve existing records, order only what is actually missing, and return one finished, provider-signed clearance file.

About the role

You review and sign pre-employment clearances by telemedicine. The work splits in two:

Live video encounters — 10 to 15 minutes each. You meet the worker by secure video, confirm history and current health status, and either clear them or tell us what is still needed. Scheduled blocks you choose in advance. No on-call.

Records review and sign-off — asynchronous. Some files require reviewing assembled records and signing employer or state fitness-for-duty forms. Done on your own schedule, through our platform. You pick files up when it suits you and turn them around within the agreed window.

The administrative work around both — chasing records, scheduling lab draws, formatting employer paperwork, following up with workers — is handled by our operations team. You do the clinical judgment, and nothing else. That is what keeps the per-clearance pace realistic.

A good fit alongside your main role

This is designed to supplement your income, not replace it. You choose your blocks in advance and pick up asynchronous reviews when it suits you — evenings, days off, or between shifts. It is a natural fit around an existing full-time or part-time position.

What you will do

Synchronous

• Conduct brief telemedicine encounters with new hires for pre-employment clearance
• Confirm health history and current health status, and identify anything warranting escalation
• Refer to in-person evaluation when the encounter or the record warrants it

Asynchronous

• Review assembled records: TB testing (QuantiFERON and other IGRA results, skin test documentation, chest imaging reports where applicable), immunization records and titers (Hep B, MMR, varicella, Tdap), prior clearance documents, and worker-reported history
• Determine whether the record supports clearance, or identify what additional testing or follow-up is required
• Complete and sign employer and state clearance forms, including fitness-for-duty attestations
• Order additional labs or diagnostics where clinically indicated
• Document each review in our platform

What we are looking for

Required

• Active, unrestricted Arizona Nurse Practitioner license
• Current national certification (FNP, AGNP, or ANP)
• Comfort practicing independently and making documented clearance decisions on the record in front of you
• Sound, defensible documentation habits — these files are read by employers, surveyors and auditors
• Reliable high-speed internet, a private space for video encounters, and your own laptop or tablet

A strong plus

• Active NP licensure in California, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania or Illinois — the APRN Compact is not yet operational, so additional states mean additional individual licenses. Multi-state providers can draw volume from every state they are licensed in, which materially raises the ceiling on this engagement.
• Background in occupational health, employee health, urgent care, primary care or corporate health
• Familiarity with home care, home health, or healthcare staffing clearance requirements
• Experience with OSHA respirator medical evaluations, or NRCME certification
• Prior telemedicine experience

Please note: Arizona does not require physician supervision or a collaborative agreement for independent nurse practitioner practice. VitalCheck Wellness does not provide a supervising or collaborating physician for this role, and you would be practicing within your own license, certification and demonstrated competency.

Compensation

• $25 per completed clearance review, paid as an independent contractor (1099)
• Roughly $130 per hour equivalent at a typical pace of about five completed clearances per hour. Pace varies by file complexity; straightforward files go faster, and files needing additional record review take longer.
• Malpractice insurance covered by us for work performed for VitalCheck Wellness — you do not need to carry or pay for your own policy for this engagement
• Volume scheduled in advance, in blocks you select, so you can plan your week and know what you are earning before it starts
• No call, no commute, no clinic overhead, no administrative burden
