This is a founding-level Product Engineer role on the Engineering team of a fast-growing European AI communication startup, building an AI phone assistant used by thousands of SMEs across Europe. You'll take end-to-end ownership of product features — from hypothesis and prototype all the way to production — sitting at the intersection of engineering, product thinking, and customer insight.
Own features end-to-end, driving them from initial hypothesis through experimentation and into production.
Lead product discovery by designing and running rapid experiments to validate ideas before committing to full builds.
Maintain close, recurring contact with customers, partners, and the Sales team to surface and prioritise real pain points.
Design and implement tracking and analytics to support data-driven product decisions.
Build across the full stack, contributing to architecture decisions and seeing them through to release.
Balance pragmatic short-term validation with long-term scalability in every solution.
Take radical ownership of initiatives and move them forward autonomously.
3+ years of experience in Product Engineering, delivering end-to-end software features.
Strong full-stack skills across Node.js, TypeScript, NestJS, and React.
Experience integrating software with external systems such as CRMs, calendar tools, and databases.
Ability to identify, track, and act on relevant product metrics to drive decisions.
Experience gathering customer feedback and translating pain points into product improvements.
Native-level German proficiency — essential for supporting a German-language product.
Fluent English for team and internal communication.
Experience with AI/LLM integration (e.g. working with large language model APIs) is a strong advantage.
Familiarity with GDPR compliance and EU AI Act considerations is a plus.
Comfortable in remote-first, async-heavy work environments with CET timezone overlap.
Deep product mindset — ownership extends well beyond writing code.
€80,000 – €120,000 annually, plus equity. No visa sponsorship is available for this role.
Fully remote, with expected overlap in Central European Time (CET). An optional office in Vienna, Austria is available.
