Overview:
The Tournament Manager is responsible for the comprehensive management of esports tournaments, including planning, execution, and post-event wrap-up. This role demands a mix of strategic oversight and practical management within the dynamic landscape of esports.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Event Planning & Execution: Oversee all aspects of tournament organization from concept to final execution, ensuring flawless delivery.
  • Rulebook Development: Collaborate with stakeholders to write, maintain, and enforce comprehensive rulebooks, ensuring effective communication to all participants.
  • Staffing: Recruit, train, and manage event personnel across operations, refereeing, and technical support to guarantee full coverage.
  • Technical Coordination: Partner with technical teams to configure and maintain gaming equipment and network infrastructure for high-stakes competition.
  • Stage & Venue Planning: Direct venue setups—including floor plans, stage renders, and seating—to optimize the player/audience experience and guarantee fair play.
  • Doping Control: Enforce competitive integrity by implementing industry-standard doping control protocols.
  • Player Communication: Act as the primary liaison for players and teams regarding rules, schedules, and tournament updates.
  • Conflict Resolution: Resolve disputes, player issues, and unexpected operational challenges with diplomacy and efficiency.
  • Prize Money Distribution: Manage the accurate, timely payout of prize pools in compliance with rules and contractual obligations.
  • Feedback & Reporting: Gather and analyze post-event feedback from stakeholders to continually improve future tournaments.


    Qualifications & Requirements

    Must-Have

    • Esports Experience: Minimum 3 years of online gaming administration at a professional or semi-professional level, plus hands-on experience running offline tournaments.
    • Game Knowledge: Deep understanding of the esports landscape and strong knowledge of the Counter-Strike ecosystem.
    • Communication: Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
    • Interpersonal & Teamwork: Great people skills with a team-first mindset and strong dispute-handling ability.
    • Execution & Pressure: Exceptional organizational skills to multitask, maintain high attention to detail, and perform under pressure.
    Nice-to-Have

    • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets and experience managing Counter-Strike servers.
    • Tier 1 Experience: Prior refereeing experience at Tier 1 Counter-Strike events.
