Description

As FP&A Manager - Business Operations & Analytics, you will help connect commercial activity, operational performance, and financial outcomes across ESL FACEIT Group’s Esports and Digital business units.

You will partner with business leaders, Commercial, Operations, Data, HR, Accounting, and Finance teams to improve planning, forecasting, project profitability, sales pipeline visibility, workforce analysis, and management reporting. This role is suited to someone who enjoys working at the intersection of finance, data, technology, and business operations, and who can turn complex or imperfect information into practical decisions.

What You Do

You will serve as a key member of the Controlling & FP&A team and act as a finance partner to the Esports and Digital business units.

Responsibilities include:

·     Business Partnering & Planning: Act as a key finance partner to the Esports and Digital business units. Coordinate business unit inputs into the annual budget, reforecasting, and five-year planning processes; translate commercial, operational, and resource assumptions into clear financial forecasts; and identify key risks, opportunities, and actions.

·     Revenue, Pipeline & Commercial Analysis: Partner with Commercial and Commercial Operations to improve the quality and financial usability of sales pipeline data. Review opportunity value, probability, timing, scope, and revenue classification, and connect Salesforce pipeline data with forecasting, project budgeting, contracting, resource planning, and profitability reporting.

·     Business Cases & Contract Viability: Develop and review business cases for new events, products, partnerships, investments, and commercial opportunities. Assess revenue potential, delivery costs, resource requirements, profitability, and downside risk, and review the financial viability of contracts, including pricing, margin, payment terms, cost exposure, and operational assumptions.

·     Project Economics & COGS: Support project budgets, pricing models, and commercial proposals. Track revenue, cost of goods sold, gross margin, and contribution margin throughout the project lifecycle, and work with operational teams to improve forecasting of production, broadcast, technology, travel, venue, vendor, and other delivery costs.

·     Workforce & Operational KPIs: Analyze hours worked, labor utilization, capacity, project allocation, personnel costs, and resource requirements. Develop reporting for KPIs such as pipeline conversion, project profitability, hours worked, hours watched, ticket volumes, attendance, ticket revenue, and digital engagement, translating operational performance into clear financial implications.

·     Data, Reporting & Analytics: Build scalable datasets, models, dashboards, and reporting tools using data from CRM, finance, workforce, ticketing, broadcast, digital product, and operational systems. Support finance-relevant data models in platforms such as BigQuery or Snowflake, dashboards in Looker, Tableau, Power BI, or similar tools, and practical uses of AI, automation, scripting, and analytics.

·     Management Reporting & Ad Hoc Analysis: Prepare recurring and ad hoc analysis for business unit leaders, Finance leadership, and other senior stakeholders. Clearly explain performance, key drivers, risks, opportunities, and recommended actions, and support broader Controlling & FP&A priorities as required.

Your Profile

·     Experience: Experience in financial analytics, business intelligence, data analytics, FP&A, commercial finance, business operations, or another highly analytical role.

·     Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets and experience working with large or complex datasets. Experience with SQL, BigQuery, Snowflake, dashboarding, data transformation, automation, scripting, or AI-assisted analytical tools is highly desirable.

·     Analytical Thinking: Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to turn ambiguous business questions into structured analysis. Comfortable investigating discrepancies, testing assumptions, and working through imperfect data and evolving processes.

·     Business Partnering: Comfortable working directly with commercial, operational, technical, and finance stakeholders. Able to constructively challenge assumptions and communicate complex analysis clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.

·     Business Knowledge: A strong interest in how businesses generate revenue, incur costs, allocate resources, and create value. Knowledge of esports, gaming, live events, event production, studio production, or broadcast operations would be a strong advantage.

·     Work Style: Proactive, curious, accountable, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-moving environment. Focused on building repeatable and scalable solutions rather than relying on manual workarounds.
