Full Stack Developer (Fixed-Contractor)

Position Overview:

As a Full Stack Developer, you will join EFG’s Publisher Operations team, playing a key role in developing new tools and technology that support the events and programmes we deliver on behalf of our partners. Working closely with operations, competition, and production stakeholders, you will help build solutions that improve how we plan, run, and scale competitive events across multiple titles, formats, and partners.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain core application features.
• Contribute to the architecture and technical direction of the new application.
• Build and deliver full-stack functionality using React/Next.js and Node.js/TypeScript, taking ownership of features from concept through to deployment.
• Design, develop, and integrate APIs to support platform capabilities and third-party services.
• Support the deployment and release of new functionality across development and production environments.
• Test, troubleshoot, and resolve defects to ensure the reliability, performance, and quality of delivered solutions.
• Enhance and maintain EFG's existing suite of operational applications by delivering new features and addressing defects.
• Participate in code reviews, contributing to continuous improvement and maintaining high engineering standards.
• Collaborate with stakeholders across technical and non-technical teams to understand requirements and deliver effective solutions.

What You’ll Bring

• 5+ years of commercial experience in a full stack software development role, with exposure to both front-end and back-end technologies.
• Strong knowledge of React and/or Next.js for front-end development.
• Commercial experience developing back-end services using Node.js and TypeScript.
• Demonstrable experience building systems from the ground up, with at least one example that you can discuss in detail.
• Experience designing, building, and integrating RESTful APIs or similar services.
• Proficiency working with both SQL and NoSQL databases.
• A solid understanding of modern web application architecture and design principles.
• A commitment to writing clean, maintainable and well-documented code.
• Experience taking ownership of features and delivering them end-to-end, from requirements through to deployment.
• Comfortable working autonomously and making sound technical decisions with limited oversight.
• Experience working effectively within a collaborative, agile environment.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage confidently with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• A pragmatic, delivery-focused approach to problem solving, with the ability to balance technical excellence against business needs.

Nice to Have

• Experience working with AWS and cloud-native services.
• Familiarity with agile development practices and methodologies, including Scrum, CI/CD, and DevOps principles.
• Knowledge of modern testing practices and frameworks.
• An eye for usability and user experience, with the ability to identify opportunities to improve workflows and interface design.
• An understanding of competitive gaming, esports ecosystems, and tournament formats.
