Senior Category Manager, Professional Services
Location: Remote work, or onsite in Oakland - flexible
Employment Type: Full-time salaried if living in California, or contract if living in other states
Travel:  Up to 5% travel

The Senior Category Manager, Professional Services serves as the strategic business partner and enterprise owner for an assigned portfolio of categories. Categories may include Professional Services, Human Resources, Health Insurance Benefits, Risk Services, Financial Services, and Marketing and Communications. The role is accountable for developing and executing multi-year category strategies that maximize value across the premises through cost optimization, risk mitigation, service quality, supplier innovation, sustainability, accessibility, and long-term stakeholder outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute 3–5 year category strategies for Professional Services (HR, Health Benefits, Risk, Financial Services, Marketing, etc.)
• Partner with executive stakeholders across premises and medical centers
• Lead supplier relationship management, performance reviews, and value creation initiatives
• Collaborate with Strategic Sourcing on sourcing events, supplier evaluations, and negotiations
• Drive spend optimization, supplier innovation, risk mitigation, and continuous improvement

Required Experience:

• 8+ years in Strategic Sourcing, Procurement, Supply Chain, Category Management, or related experience
• Experience in category management for the benefits category
• Strong experience with category strategy, supplier management, stakeholder engagement, and contract negotiations
• Excellent analytical, financial modeling, and communication skills
• Bachelor's degree required or equivalent experience.

Preferred:

• Experience sourcing Health Insurance or Risk Services
• CPSM or other Supply Chain certification
