We are now seeking an experienced Senior Tax Accountant to join our growing team.

Position Summary:

As the Senior Tax Accountant, your role will involve ensuring the delivery of accurate and timely financial information. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in public accounting, strong technical skills, and the ability to build and maintain client relationships.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and review complex individual, corporate, partnership, and trust tax returns.
  • Prepare and review financial statements, ensuring compliance with applicable accounting standards.
  • Stay current on changes in tax laws, regulations, and accounting standards, and share knowledge with the team.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and service quality.
  • Assist with the preparation of monthly management accounts, including review of P&L accounts and preparation of the reports.
  • Assist with bookkeeping tasks to support the compliance engagements (eg BAS/IAS, annual financials).
  • Preparation of work papers for compliance engagements.

Skills:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Australian public accounting, with a focus on Australian tax and financial reporting.
  • In-depth knowledge of Australian tax laws, regulations, and accounting standards.
  • Proficiency in accounting software Xero and FYI Docs.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Proven leadership and team management skills.
  • High level of integrity and professionalism.
  • Experience with Active Work Papers desirable but not essential. However, at least online workpapers software.
