Who We Are

Catalis is a leading government Software as a Service (SaaS) and integrated payments provider, powering a wide range of government operations at the municipal, county, state, and federal levels. Our innovative solutions are designed to streamline processes, enhance efficiency, and improve the delivery of government services to the public. At Catalis, we are committed to leveraging technology to make government interactions simpler, faster, and more accessible.

Who You Are

You are an experienced and motivated software engineering manager. You no longer develop software – or maybe you do – but you now leave the coding to AI so you can focus fully at the system level. You have worked across all aspects of the SDLC and are now in management because of your natural tendencies to think big, solve hard problems and help others do the same, whether they are on your team or in another department. You enjoy mentoring others both on- and off-shore, follow the rules while also questioning them, and are driven at a core level to want to make everything around you better. Most importantly, you are organized and can effectively lead a team, in a complex and quickly changing environment, to get things done-done and delivered.

What You Will Do

1. Thought Leadership

  •  Actively collaborate with other technical leaders to think big and drive progress in both the software and the industry.
  • Continue to advance the use of AI in processes, development and the customer UX.

2. Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Actively engage and collaborate with product management, professional services, support and other stakeholders to define requirements, set priorities and drive help projects to true completion.
  • Bridge communication between technical and non-technical teams.

3. Team Leadership and Development:

  •  Lead and mentor development and QA teams, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
  •  Manage performance and collaborate with offshore partners to recruit and retain top talent.
  • Conduct code reviews, mentor developers, and enforce coding and design best practices.

4. Technical Responsibilities:

  • Architect, develop, and maintain a shared platform service using a variety of technologies such as C#, Go, React, Postgres, Terraform, and AWS.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues across application and database layers.
  •  Ensure adherence to development standards and proactively address technical risks.
  • Research and implement emerging technologies to enhance performance and scalability.
  • Participate in hands-on coding and architectural decision-making.

5. Process Improvement:

  •  Participate in Scrum ceremonies and drive improvements in productivity and software quality.
  •  Track progress and regularly update leadership.
