    ActioNet has an exciting opportunity for a Software Engineer to join our team supporting the development and modernization of data-driven applications and analytics platforms. The Software Engineer will design, develop, integrate, and maintain scalable applications that support data processing, business intelligence, and interactive analytics capabilities.

    Target Salary $180,000

    The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with Java, SQL, Python, and Cube.js, with the ability to work across backend application development, data integration, and analytics visualization. This position will collaborate closely with software engineers, data engineers, architects, and stakeholders to deliver reliable and high-performing solutions.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Design, develop, test, and maintain enterprise applications using Java.
    • Develop backend services, APIs, and application components supporting data-driven applications.
    • Write complex and optimized SQL queries for data retrieval, transformation, analysis, and reporting.
    • Develop Python scripts and applications to support data processing, automation, integration, and operational workflows.
    • Design and implement analytics solutions using Cube.js, including data models, measures, dimensions, and semantic layers.
    • Integrate Cube.js with backend services, databases, and front-end analytics applications.
    • Develop reusable data models and APIs that enable consistent and efficient access to enterprise data.
    • Collaborate with data engineers and database teams to optimize data structures, queries, and application performance.
    • Troubleshoot application, database, data integration, and analytics issues and implement effective solutions.
    • Participate in application architecture, design reviews, code reviews, testing, and deployment activities.
    • Develop automated unit and integration tests to ensure application reliability and maintainability.
    • Support integration of applications with enterprise databases, APIs, and other data sources.
    • Apply software development best practices related to security, scalability, performance, version control, and documentation.
    • Work in an Agile development environment and collaborate with cross-functional technical teams.
    • Analyze business and technical requirements and translate them into effective software and analytics solutions.
    • Stay current with emerging technologies and recommend improvements to application architecture, development processes, and analytics capabilities.

    Required Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
    • 3+ years of professional software development experience.
    • Strong hands-on experience with Java and object-oriented programming.
    • Strong experience writing and optimizing SQL queries.
    • Hands-on experience with Python for application development, automation, or data processing.
    • Hands-on experience with Cube.js, including development of semantic/data models and analytics solutions.
    • Experience developing and integrating REST APIs and backend services.
    • Understanding of relational databases and data modeling concepts.
    • Experience with Git-based version control and modern software development practices.
    • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
    • Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
    • Ability to obtain a Public Trust security clearance.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Experience developing data analytics, business intelligence, or data visualization applications.
    • Experience integrating Cube.js with Java, Python, REST APIs, and relational databases.
    • Experience with cloud-based application development, particularly AWS.
    • Experience with Spring Boot or similar Java frameworks.
    • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated software deployments.
    • Experience with Docker and containerized applications.
    • Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments.
    • Familiarity with data warehousing, ETL/ELT, and enterprise analytics architectures.
